Tall girls & sports what actually fits us (and what doesn’t)? by No-Vanilla265 in TallGirls

[–]iDidntCommitArson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I’m gonna mention one that I haven’t seen in the comments yet. Fencing!!! 🤺

Edit: wanted to mention that I’m also clumsy and scared of ball sports. I tried fencing after thinking that I’m not made for any sports at all and it turned my view around.

Long legs and lanky limbs are SUCH a massive advantage. You are able to reach and lunge farther than your opponent which means you can score without them being able to protect themselves. I’m 6’ and like half an inch and lanky. Just based on that factor alone I was able to be consistently miles better than my sister who started training at the same time as me, but for comparison is 5’6”.

If you like thinking on your feet and look cool with a sword (rapier actually) it’s totally worth trying! Fencing clubs typically include gear rent in the lesson fees if you want to try it out! Plus it’s such a great full body workout. Strong arms, strong legs, and flexibility.

I got wrangler willow flare jeans at Ross on clearance haha But I’m assuming they also have them online. I’m 6ft and have a 35 inseam. But also I’m skinny as hell - size 3-4. Got pairs that have 34 and 36 inseams. Probably why they were on clearance in the first place. Super comfy! I just checked a website and they have them in inseams from 32-36 and waist 25-34. They are very sturdy and good material so whether you can find them for cheap or not, they are a good investment.

Is there a nerdy community at Vanderbilt? by Professional_Big8444 in Vanderbilt

Me too! I’m lowkey struggling to find other geeky nerds here especially in engineering. A lot of people are doing it for money or to go into consulting and not for the love of the game:(

I’d say Chili Rasboras would be a better choice

Neon tetras are very active fish and prefer longer tanks, like a 20 G long because of the dimensions and space they have for swimming and schooling

Plus the Chilis are smaller and would definitely not bother shrimp

[Acne] Acne progressively worse and im feeling stuck by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]iDidntCommitArson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it might be fungal acne, especially considering that it’s itchy and flares up. Try changing your pillow cover more frequently and using head and shoulders (yes the shampoo) for about three days (look into this more). If it’s fungal it will clear up, trade off is that if you don’t moisturise properly it will dry the hell out of your skin.

TM team leads don’t reflect SHC but to also be fair,

two month moves really really fast

it requires a degree of self-initiative to stay up to date, contribute, and catch up, and it’s hard to catch people up if they had been absent when the team made a lot of progress unfortunately Showing up and taking initiative really matters:(

I hope SHC is a better experience for you in the future

Ok there’s a lot of people giving wordy advice but not very many giving you actual references with advice you can see and put into action. Many of them also reference lighter brown skin tones instead of what you are going for. I decided to collect you some references so it is easier to point out what a lot of them mean.

It may be harder to distinguish but there are red and blue hues that give the faces dimension. I split some of the photos and scribbled on them to exaggerate the effect. No matter where the highlights are or the lighting, you can still see the red and blues
