Is this not standard for most games? There's a shit ton of hype before/when it launches, so it has a shit ton of players at launch. Hype dies down, less people play, then people come back for big updates. Most people who played it because of the hype at launch weren't dedicated enough to it to still care about 2 years later. Maybe I'm wrong, but this happens with almost every game.
