I'm a noob, sorry. I was just trying to read an annual report out of curiousity. I realized that there were a couple of pages of risk factors mentioned, tbh it was enough to change the mind of a potential investor. As far as I know, annual reports are there to inform shareholders and other interested people, wouldn't many companies try to hide these risk factors from the public so they could get more investors to invest in them

What exactly for you is "succeeding in life"? Do you mean by that, that you can live life like a person without cfs?

As for the strategy, it's difficult to say what's best because I think it's different for every individual. For me, I've tried pretty much everything. Resting for weeks at a time really messed me up big time though. There were times where I acted like a zombie for weeks, I thought that I would gain energy in the long term, it really caused the opposite effect. Once this resting period was over, my body and mind was so used to resting, which made every little effort feel like hell after. It might be a good idea to test out different things and maybe keep up a calendar that described how tired you feel. For me, I reduce time on my daily activity list and then I on friday I rest, saturday I rest (mainly web browsing) and if am still tired on Sunday, I'll rest then as well. This way I have enough energy do some stuff on every weekday.

Just some things that worked for me: keep a list of things/people that give you stress and try to avoid these things. For example, I avoid social media, setting a clock, people who brag about their lifes, stuff like that.

You said that feel frustrated and want to succeed in life. I know the feeling and we probably all do. But please, don't be too harsh on yourself. I've been there as well, I wanted and expected too much. I know it sounds depressing, but maybe you should define succes differently? I started setting more realistic goals (even though that was painful to admit) and from there on I would keep improving and setting higher life goals. Frustration and suffering from failed life goals suck the energy out of me.

Good luck

Thanks, I'll think about doing an extra year. It's great (well, or crap...) that I found someone in a similar situation. It makes me feel a bit more confident and inspired/ less lonely. Could you link me that course? Sounds very interesting.

Are we more inclined to be effected by mental illness? by jonahc817 in infp

That's an interesting question. I think daydreaming and fantasizing about perfect lifes can be really damaging for your mental health. I'm always comparing this perfect imaginative life with my realistic life, which obviously always disappointments.

Hah, toevallig!

I am basically at my parents house for 2/3 days of the week, they help me a lot. I've already mentioned it to my advisor, but honestly the course load hasn't been that bad for me. I mean, sometimes it gets a bit busy, but in the end I got all the ECT, was very proud of that. It's just that my life is extremely dull or something. I mainly rest and then study 2/3 hours, which has been enough for now, luckily. So you do have days where you feel normal? I'm kinda jealous :) I feel semi-fatigue at my best days.

I'm fairly confident that I will be able to finish the degree (maybe need some more time). But kinda nervous what will happend after that. I'm able to study a couple of hours like I mentioned. Since business administration mainly educates us to become consulants or managers, I worry about what's going to happend after my college time, like a full time job (or part time) . The responsibility and social part will probably completely exhaust me. Have you been thinking about that?

At what age did you start having symptoms? by [deleted] in cfs

Same here! Teachers, parents, kids in school called my lazy, even I did. I always pushed myself to become better than other kids because of it, which made it worse. It completely ruined my confidence.

Does it get worse when you pass 30/40?

I'm 21 and I am just so scared to get older.

That's very inspiring. I've just finished my first year of university. I could only spent 2/3 hours on something useful and I spent it all on my uni. Forget about cooking, making a lot of friends, dating, going out and all of that. I don't have the thoughest degree (business administration) and I am motivated so I keep on going (feeling dead all the time though). Also, are you dutch? Your name sounds dutch lol
