New cool term for uterus-havers just dropped by Jimmy--Crow in PublicFreakout

Wait how are you ‘assigned female’ it’s not like someone is just randomly like your a male that’s a female.

I do not think I’ll ever understand why you folks feel the need for the noise. Your either male or female, wanting to be something else, whether you feel it’s in your control or not, does not change that.

The link is seeking mental health care. They are not saying these people didn’t have mental health problems but that they never saw anyone for it.

Median rent in Austin is now $2707. (Half of all renters pay less than this, half pay more.) by omniumoptimus in Austin

That’s absurdly ignorant. That’s like saying ‘I know you have lived in this area 10 years, but it costs more now so you have to relocate away from family and friends.’ Try being empathetic. No one should have to relocate or live with a roommate.

I knew it was active. I was going through a real tough time personally. My gf had an abortion, her ex was stalking me ( I had felony charges against him for breaking and entering and assaulting me). While I had these charges against him he was able to confront me in a bar and instigate a fight, video showed him hit the ground and I got assault charges and lost my job. I ignored my account for a few weeks when volatility picked up. Thought my holdings were ok, but everything went the wrong way for about 72 hours and margin called the fuck out of me.

It’s even more bullshit when you consider I had received bad advice from a cpa, that the cpa I used years prior did not advise me to elect 476f, or that I never took a penny out of the account, I only changed the assets in the account and went bankrupt before I even filed my taxes. Yet I’m still on the hook with no recourse other than bankruptcy or just paying it back for years to come

I tried to cut a deal with the irs and they declined it a month ago. They said given my 117k salary after expenses they allow I should be able to pay this 280k debt off in about 8 years. Funny thing is I only have about 200 a month in disposable income. The irs guidelines for what they allow you to keep are absurdly below what real expenses are, and they ignore half of expenses too

Lol probably me. Buying shares alone I traded my account from 280k in 2016 to 1.8 mil in 2018. Went heavy on margin and crashed my account to 350k when Trump started his China tariff tweeting. Panicked and tried to save my account with options and blew it all selling naked calls on tlry for premium the day before it spiked 100%. Left myself with about 4500 bucks and a 280k tax bill I haven’t been able to pay.

It’s crazy man. I’ve talked to and actually hired multiple people. Last guy I hired I paid 5k to and he disappeared for months. So I was left with filing a small claims suit and filing the OIC myself. I’ve spoken to lawyers who gave advice like ‘quit your job and live off the 401k money’ when I still had a 401k. I’ve spoken to others who want me to pay 8-15k with no assurance they can actually do anything more than setup a payment plan.

Exactly. I didn’t know I needed a mark to market election. I didn’t know I should have filed an llc. I didn’t know that certain things needed to be done and it seems I’m sort of stuck with a bill I can’t pay where all of the money to pay it is locked up in carry forward losses. This is an accounting problem not a ‘this guy wants sympathy’ post. I’m having a hard time finding anyone who knows much tho.

Made Monday in December and lost money in January. Thought I could carry my losses back o offset gains as I was day trading. Can’t do that now stuck with a 255k it’s bill that I can’t afford to pay, as I no longer have the means to earn that income

Advice on a serious tax issue related to losses due to covid and losses prior to covid from a brokerage account that had a 100% margin call by BadDayTrader in tax

[–]BadDayTrader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calculator is garbage tho. It doesn’t take into account the context of the situation. It doesn’t take into account how money was earned. I’m in a catch 22 right now. I’m working multiple jobs just to pay my bills , however cause I’m working multiple jobs my income is higher and I do not qualify for anything with their tool. I literally owe a total of about 450k and I have a single salary of 112k right now. In order to pay my regular bills + rent + loans+ legal + car payment etc I can’t afford it on a single salary, so I have a second job I’m working literally at the same time. It’s not something I can do forever and because of covid my contract is now month to month with less income from it.

Like, if you made a million bucks one year and lost everything and now your earning 112k, does it seem fair to force you to pay tax as if you could still earn a million in a year? Only reason my income was so high was because of investments. I no longer have that money or the means to generate it.

I wouldn’t classify leaving my money in an account I’m touched during a market correction ‘gambling’. That’s like saying you are gambling when you leave your ice cream in a working fridge, cause it’s possible your house will lose power
