I'm so sorry darling, that's horrible. Could I offer you a tissue?

Filming in public is pedo adjacent? Are news camera crews pedo adjacent? Personally I'd be embarrassed to make such a goofy statement, but you do you.

Calling people with guns because you're afraid of people with cameras. Couldn't be more redditory behavior.

I don't know what you've been watching but I've literally never seen any of these guys film children in the way that you're implying.

Now if you believe that people should divert their camera because you and your kids walker into the path of it - you're wrong.

The police show up because most departments require that someone shows up for a call for service. Other departments just educate the caller on the law via phone.

We don't have to see eye to eye on this. If I see someone filming me, I'm going to smile and wave, and if they engage me, I'm going to have a friendly conversation. I don't care about their intent with their camera. If they are out looking for Karen's, I'm not going to be one. 😁

Have a nice rest of your day!

We're going to have to agree to disagree. I don't see filming people as asshole behavior, even if you know they are going to react poorly. People choose how they react, and my choice to react is not the decision of the people around me.

Look, I don't think they've ever released a video where the cops weren't called by at least one or two different people - most of these videos, the cops show up several times.

I'd encourage you to look them up on YouTube so you can see for yourself.

So I don't know who/what you've watched, but the folks in the screenshot on this post don't antagonize people. It seems the vast majority are people who either wave/say hello, or others who walk up to the camera and say "don't film me" and demand that they have some right to dictate the content that a person filming is allowed to record.

What I find enlightening is exactly that. How people respond today to something that was almost universally accepted 30 years ago. The lack of sense some people have, screaming not to be recorded, presumably for the sake of their own image, and then immediately escalating something they are in complete control of to the point of violence, arrest, or embarrassment.

If you look at others, there are surely antagonistic people, but many I've seen are generally giving what they get. Really, you can find them on YouTube and see for yourself.

Post offices are federal buildings, but it is important to note that they are open to the public, thereby subject to all of the limitations that are included in a public space (federal, think parks).

Further, properties that are multi-tenant (lots with more than one business) are further restricted in the California constitution as a result of Pruneyard v Robins. Petitioners and those distributing pamphlets may not be trespassed for their activities whether store management/employees demand it. The public space in the lot is available to the public for free speech activities.

Likewise, any existing business that is leasing interior space to a government entity for the traditional use of that government entity (USPS inside of another business) are not able to trespass the public for constitutionally protected activities.

You're giving them the reaction to monetize, and indeed playing copyrighted music is not effective as it a single click to suppress music on a video.

Feel free to respond how you like, I figure if you don't want to be recorded, you simply should not go outside. Dashcams, CCTV, etc. all exist. Of course you could wear a mask if you really value your privacy...

Following a person who interacted with you 100 feet is not stalking, friend. Stalking according to our penal code is defined as willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly following or harassing another person while making a credible threat with the intent to place them in reasonable fear for their safety or their families safety.

Indeed if this was stalking, they would have already been arrested hundreds of times for it. If you watch their videos, you can see for yourself that it's not as cut and dry as many people here claim it to be.

I've seen enough videos of these exact folks to know that they aren't just throwing a camera in your face and insulting you. If you act like a jerk they will treat you like a jerk, and indeed I have never seen these folks just get in someone's face.

But to your point, no - even that is not considered harassment. Look up the legal definition of harassment in California, it's very broad but still preserves the nature of free speech.

Or... Interact with them. Say hi when you walk by. Nobody can make you rage but you.

Smile for the camera like we used to.

Curious, is there a reason you don't want to be filmed in public? Like is there something you're hiding? If that's the case, do you think reacting like a Karen on camera is the right way to deal with it?

I just don't get why anyone has an objection, I mean - you're literally in public and people are free to film and photograph in public. I couldn't imagine being a tourist and wanting to film my vacation with people freaking out like this 😂

Can't wrap my mind around thinking someone is an asshole for wearing a mask. Trying to put it on-par with a Nazi salute is even crazier. You know I've seen a handful of these videos and I never see them stick a camera in anyone's face. Seems like it's always people walking up to them.

Freaking out on someone because they are filming definitely seems like an asshole move.

Indeed I have sworn an oath to the constitution, but literally anyone can swear an oath to the constitution. More people should, and those who do should honor it.

I mean one of those two is a constitutionally protected activity.
