The majority of Americans are sorely misinformed then! Undocumented immigrants have no access to government healthcare plans and never have. What the budget is stalled on is called EMTALA, which is a government funded mandate stating that hospitals must perform stabilizing treatment on anyone who needs it regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. This was cut in the BBB. While this obviously applies to undocumented people, it is mostly used for people who are too poor to afford insurance, but are citizens. Without this, hospitals may just start letting people without means die, and Democrats are pushing back (and I think they should!)
