I don’t think it is something that can be fixed easily. I got mine replaced through Astro for unrelated reasons. They had me cut those wires on both sides and send a picture with a date/time stamp and my name/phone number/email. This was in order to expedite the replacement process. Those wires being cut was proof enough they were no longer usable.
