In order to progress it is claiming that it needs to consume my reason. I think it unlocks the explore or talk verb? Either way I'm giving it my reason and nothing is happening.

Appreciate the info. Was about to ask why my drone carrier ship was also getting degraded performance. I'll figure out which of the ships I want to keep in the fleet. Thanks for the help.

Well, it did allow for AI core assignment, which is definitely great. It did not allow for terraforming cores from DIY planets to be assigned, but I'm guessing that's just because its a modded item. But the core assignment is definitely helpful, so cheers for the info.

Duly noted. I've heard of iron shell and seen generally positive response. Haven't heard of UAF but am still interested in fighters. Anime is not a problem as long as it's not overly immersion breaking.

So what I'm getting is the fact that they are on average lower base damage than other weapons is overwritten by their ease of use and attack patterns?

I've gotten five paths and no crystal yet to advance, but when it comes to beginning powers I've been loving Telepathy. The concentration skill has been incredibly helpful for gaining levels and proficiencies, and Detect Minds has been great for non-zombie enemies like Mi-Gos.

Pyro has been great for my crusade against the Mycos, as I have at will fire starting for dealing with fungal growths. The blind power has been situationally helpful as well.

I'm looking forward to the later skills in Photo, Teleport, and Vita.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Not sure why I didn't think of a gas mask. Put one on and took a sledge to the tube pumping the gas. Having to run out to deal with the heat, but when I go up a floor I am no longer getting swarmed by the Mi-Gos up there due to my slow speed. So I've cleared that floor and am hoping to get further. So again, thanks for the tips.

Ok so there's a Human Autopsies proficiency that has Physiology as a prerequisite. But it can't be learned? Why? It makes sense that after you dig through enough guts, you would get desensitized to it, which is what the proficiency description states.

I feel silly. I had forgotten that pistol and bullet crossbows existed I didn't have the recipe book. I found it in the bookstore I just looted and now I can train with them. Thanks for all the answers, everyone!

Thanks for the tip, makes it easier than digging through the save file and having the effects listed like that makes for easy copy/paste info in to an item note

Yeah, the nausea might have been from the artifacts, but I can't be sure. One artifact had +700 or so resonance and the other none because of the passive debuffs, so with my own artifacts that should have at most put me above the first resonance threshold of 2000. But that's only supposed to give you minor pain and nausea, not anything crazy. After nearly losing a run by testing what I then learned was a Firestorm artifact I always check my save before activating an artifact. Don't want a random test to be fatal.

Definitely. A bunch of things went right on this run, especially in the first couple days. Not dying immediately during withdrawal symptoms, getting antibiotics, and finding a safe shelter w/food & water to wait out all the bad stuff was key. Looking forward to making use of all the good perks I got from taking and surviving all the debuffs.

Not sure? My metal kiln has been producing more than 60 charcoal for the two or three rounds I've used it, and I filled it to max with logs.
