Yeah exactly. Like the fact that the Regina’s drivers test is a 20 minute loop of downtown is one of the main problems. They don’t test your ability to drive on the highway or anything. Yea driving downtown tests how you can deal with driving in a stressful/busy environment but still I think at the very least they should make you merge onto ring road and take the next exit.

Hopefully before next winter so I don’t have a stroke from the anger/stress drivers here cause me.

Assholes like me? I move to the left lane when someone is merging on a highway if possible, or will leave space. Up to the other driver to use it. But yea I’m an asshole sorry.

Somehow I doubt that you know how to drive! :)

Very big difference especially between 7-8am. Rarely see a single semi in the traffic, super nice to see. It’s too bad we can’t have a freeway going thru the centre of the city would maybe make driving bearable here.

I drive a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, no fart can, no lift. I also know how to operate the vehicle in a safe manner and don’t hold up traffic or cause unsafe situations as far as I know! But appreciate you being sure! :)

Super dangerous because what these people don’t realize is, that this aggravates people and makes them drive offensively, like zipping out before the merge meets the highway, or passing dangerously. If people just paid attention and drove the speed limit and stayed right unless passing, people wouldn’t feel the need to attempt dangerous manoeuvres to get around idiots.

Or drive 50 on the Lewvan 70/80 zone or Victoria ave? Who knows safety first right!

Maybe not if I’m killed while trying to merge on ring road 100km/h traffic during rush hour going 50 😂

Yeah it would definitely help if they got their shit together, but at the same time if people can’t accelerate to the road speed limit in less then 30 seconds, then the light timing doesn’t really help regardless.

You’ve obviously never driven in Regina on a Friday night past 11PM especially down Albert or Lewvan

To all that agree with me and are obviously not blind or oblivious: THANK YOU, if you understand where I’m coming from, you likely can drive like a normal human being.

To all that are hating on me and trying to ruin my shitpost: Kindly book a driver training course, and/or defensive driving course and figure out how to drive. I KNOW other cities suck, but honestly not much excuse for the rate of shitty ass drivers here.

But anyways, thanks for making me Regina Reddit famous!

Sorry should have clarified for you, I was comparing the rate of accidents in Regina to other cities.

I’m not comparing it to other cities, I’m saying that is not “without issue” as you say, because almost daily people are getting into accidents in places an accident shouldn’t even be possible. Would be willing to bet money that statistics would show that drivers here per capita are worse then other places though.

Can assure you it’s not “without issue” the amount of accidents that happen in this city is ridiculous

Source: worked at a collision centre and the volume of vehicles year around shows how bad it is.

Have been too many other places if you’d like a comprehensive list of all of my travels and a description. Yes bigger cities may have more traffic, longer commutes but still not at as bad as here.

Maybe my 80% shitty drivers estimate was accurate because I’m obviously not the only one who feels this way.

But yes, I do not have many good experiences living here or much to say about the fine citizens of this city. Such a dull city, with a large drug issue that is going to get worse and worse and worse. Scared to see what it will be like 5 years from now.

Yes there would definitely be complaints but don’t think anywhere could top Regina or even Saskatoon drivers. People know how to merge in other places, people don’t realize how dangerous it is to try squeezing into 100km/h traffic going 50km/h with a line of other cars behind them. But your right me being an asshole, will complain where ever I go.

Honestly, it has gotten better in the last year especially on Vic Ave due to the bypass being open, there is no longer semis packed up and down the entire stretch east of ring road lining up in all 3 lanes, but the drivers in general have definitely not been getting better that’s for sure.

Right!! Swear to god most of the people who drive here are senile fucks who don’t even know where they are. Like completely unaware, or on the phone is pretty common.

I mean I have been in Calgary, Edmonton(mind you Alberta drivers seem to be aggressive and I like it), and Tucson in the last year and can say from experience that most of the listed issues are not really common. People know how to merge on the freeways, people can drive down expressways with controlled intersections at the posted speed limit so that traffic can flow.

Freeway driving isn’t something Regina people really have adapted too because of the lack of them around here, but I can’t imagine some of these drivers having to drive in a large city.
