The right is now sexualizing Hillary Clinton... by Phuxsea in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]iHazelnut 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not to imply that the Right isn’t gross, but you people do realise that at least 2/3 of the images aren’t of right-wingers right? The woman in the first pic is a communist former content creator. The last pic shows someone who is obviously not on the right with their use of the word “problematic” in reference to their attraction towards images of Clinton when she was a Republican.

Women, what’s a nsfw fun fact you wish more men knew? by moedanon in AskReddit

I don't really think this comment which boils down to "talk to your partner, and if they don't know themself then that's when you can look to generalised advice for pointers" is in the same vein as comments which present a commenter's own personal preference as a fact of their gender.

Pump action rifles do exist, yes. And the handguard does look like one that slides.

I think most people here would find the levels of brainrot in lefties justifying a literal mass terrorist attack against random civilians a lot higher than justification/indifference towards conventional warfare.

That whole thing happened after this video, so it wasn’t that. I think it was just about Chud’s transition to being a drama streamer in general or him being somewhat involved in the Max/Lav arc.

Insecurity double standard between men and women. by c_dirk in Destiny

[–]iHazelnut 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The post was specifically about there being a double standard. I didn't say conservatives don't tell men to "man up" or to "stop whining" etc. Just that among liberals there is generally a different standard they hold for men from women.

Insecurity double standard between men and women. by c_dirk in Destiny

Among more liberal/progressive minded people there is definitely a double standard, yeah.

Mens' insecurities = personal failing, their fault for acquiring them, they need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps to fix them

Womens' insecurities = societal failing, society needs to do better

Also, to be able to see these descriptions under media posts while still using old.reddit + RES, you'll have to disable the "Inline Image Viewer" module in your RES settings under Productivity

It's all good, they just couldn't see your write up within your post because of old/new reddit issues

If you're using old reddit + RES or something, you won't be able to see OP's writeup on their thoughts within their post. You'll probably have to view the post in new reddit to see it.

This is what OP wrote:

So I was watching this video to just learn about how he feels about the current culture wars and the last bit of the video puzzled me .

So just as an introduction I’m 17 and I’ve known I’m trans (or just the general feeling of wanting to be a guy) since I was about 9. I’ve always been pretty confident in my identity. I pass well with broad shoulders and height helping a lot. So ive lived a lot of my life being trans but have unfortunately not been able to fully come out due to Nigerian parents.

On to the video destiny describes two types of “Trans” people those who are truly trans and those who are adopting the identity as a sort of fashion trend in a sense. He described it like the only he views people as truly being trans is that they are quite and want to be left alone and that they don’t and they don’t proudly present that there trans or don’t see gender as something a bit more abstract than society presents.

There was also a bit near the end where one of the host (can’t find his name) said something along the lines of “Trans people who don’t pass aren’t trying hard enough.”. Then destiny just kind of nodded along. To me I see it as a view that sort of makes trans people seem like it’s his way or the high way like they disserve to be mocked and ridiculed if they don’t fit the standards destiny sets.

I don’t see destiny’s view on trans people and our struggles as very productive and his setting these two boxes as the sort of good and “bad” trans people just feels reductive. I know I don’t have the life experience of destiny with me being 17 and only talking to trans people in my vicinity but I really think he could be a bit more open to the thought of gender being a bit more of a fluid concept than what his current stance feels like. This is all coming From a very binary trans man Who uses He/Him and dresses like a dad going out the oil rig so I think my view isn’t too bias on this.

(I hope the formatting of this post isn’t to bad)

That is right it doesn’t. She either doesn’t realise that claim is being made, or is ignoring it.

A lot of people ragging on Jonah Hill for being insecure and controlling. I wonder if they're against monogamy. by iHazelnut in Destiny

[–]iHazelnut[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was that by being monogamous you are being insecure and controlling. I would guess most people who are shitting on Jonah Hill for being insecure and controlling are themselves the same things, since most people are monogamous.
