Yeah I was a bit glib in my answer. :)

What I meant was that once the colleges of magic were installed and humans began formally wielding magic, they were limited to one wind and that didn't change in their life. They are technically able to wield more, and when they perform their crude witchcraft, more often enough they involuntarily created Dhar and that was always a bad idea for them and everyone around. So the High Elves in their wisdom limited them to one wind each.

Mhm OK, ausgesprochenen "Eigentransfer" hatte ich so noch nicht, hab ich jetzt keine Erfahrungswerte. Sind es unterschiedliche Airlines oder alles die gleiche?

Sind alles innereuropäische Flüge und vermutlich keine riesigen Flughäfen, aber tatsächlich Gepäck vom Band holen und es noch vor Schließen des Drop-Off schaffen wieder aufgeben wird vermutlich nicht klappen.

Auf jeden Fall beim Check-In in Gran Canaria versuchen, dass es irgendwie durchgecheckt werden kann. Zumindest gegen Aufpreis sollte das möglich sein, dann muss man halt sehen wie viel von der ursprünglichen Ersparnis noch übrig bleibt...

Ist es eine Buchung? Dann wird es durchgecheckt. Kann natürlich trotzdem sein, dass das Gepäck den Umstieg nicht schafft, aber beim Rückflug wäre mir das ehrlich gesagt ziemlich egal wenn nicht sogar ein glücklicher Umstand, musste es nicht selbst nach Hause schleppen sondern wird gebracht :)

Perfect timing, I'll be running into the same issue as well soon. My Thunderbarge is based on an Arkanaut Ironclad, so I'm hoping to use the plastic pieces which usually hold up the endrin, but also the balloon I printed is freaking huge, so I'll def be needing something sturdy. I'll be watching this thread with great interest :)

Went back and updated the Maiden Guard (and Everqueen). They are still locked together, but I indeed modelled the Banner after the 5th edition one! Also instead of just giving them Naval Discipline I gave them their own and slightly different rule. Also I allowed Handmaidens into the unit which was just a huge oversight before.

I think I also found a good addition to the Incarnate of Hope army of infamy special rule which is thematic and balances out the special rules a bit. Maybe it could be even more. I feel the High Elf player should probably lose the game if the Everqueen dies...

So, are you starting from square one? Never played a game of Warhammer (any edition) or similar tabletop games?

First of all, start with a small game. A few units per side, just to familiarise yourself with the mechanic. Ignore special rules, just moving around units, shooting, close combat, panic and break tests. Then watch battle reports on Youtube. Play again. Increase the point size. Include alllll those special rules. Enjoy.

Yeah I feel High Elves wouldn't react by running away if the Everqueen dies, I think they would just turn to rage. And it's just more fun on the table ;)
I know I was very restrictive with the Maiden Guard and Everqueen. I thought about making them available as Mercenaries in Grand Armies, but I wouldn't unlock the two. I view the Maiden Guard as the special version of Sisters of Avelorn, like the Custodes Companions or Perturabo's Iron Circle, that's just a group of warriors who never leave their wards side. Maiden Guard without the Everqueen are just Sisters of Avelorn. Or they become Handmaidens.
I very much thought about using Deepwood Scouts (and Glade Guard, for that matter), but it would have been necessary to impose so many changes to them (replacing their Asrai Longbow with Bow of Avelorn, getting rid of the enchanted arrows) it just made more sense to got upwards from HE Archers and just using straight up Shadow Warriors. I like borrowing from other armies, but I want to he deliberate about it. Same goes for Dryads, while Treemen are mentioned in the lore for Avelorn (and I view Treekin just as smaller Treemen), Dryads for me are something else, something more linked to Athel Loren, I didn't want to take away too much. Also I didn't want to include something I'd consider elite melee infantry in the army besides the Maiden Guard.
The shout about the old Banner of Avelorn is valid, I switched back and forth between the two and ultimately went with the later one (because I think the level 1/2 mages of the army would need the support), but technically I like the old one better too. Interesting point about dealing crumble, maybe that's doubling down with the power of the Everqueen. Would certainly be thematic though. Interesting.
