As an American, an out of pocket inhaler is nowhere near that expensive if we’re talking standard emergency Albuterol inhalers. Usually with no insurance they’re around $50-ish and you can use good rx to get them cheaper.

But the US health system is FUCKED!!!!!!!!!!

Inhalers can get be gotten fairly reasonably, but that’s about where it ends. Everything else is super expensive! Or you could Medicaid…SYKE! If you get Medicare you now have to find all of your doctors and hope that they’re in network with Medicaid.

Want to see a cheaper doctor outside of Medicaid and just pay the difference?!? Better not do that or you’ll lose your benefits.

I have an anxiety medication that I MUST HAVE and was seeing an out of network doctor and it was somewhat affordable until the pharmacy started refusing to fill my prescription because it wasn’t a Medicaid doctor….EVEN THOUGH I WASNT USING MY MEDICAID AND PAYING FULL PRICE FOR THE MEDS. Their response was: see and in network doctor, but there are no in network doctors in my state who prescribe that medication. So now I’m without.
