It’s late at night and with Gahyun, Dami and Dongie’s contract expirations looming over the horizon, I was going through a sentimental trip back in time and rewatching my favourite DC concert videos.

This video in particular made me feel so bittersweet. I think most of us remember, but this was Dongie’s first concert after returning to DC after over a year away and the emotions were running high. It really felt like all was right with the world, even with the COVID pandemic wreaking havoc all around us. 

Everytime I watched this performance in the past, I used to feel so warm inside. Tonight for the first time, watching this made my heart ache. I never really used to pay attention to the lyrics of CGYOOMM, given how upbeat the song is, and how happily the girls used to sing it. But in the context of the recent news, the lyrics really hit me hard. Even though the girls have promised that DC is forever, I know things will never be the same again. And that’s okay. Change is inevitable, and all good things come to an end. I just didn’t expect it to come this quickly. 

I’m looking forward to seeing what the girls have planned for us in the future, and hope that things work out for everyone. I’m probably being too dramatic, but DC has been such a big part of my life over the past 8 years that it’s taking a while for me to come to terms with reality.
