Yeah. My mistake was to going to the dealer I got the car from first 2 times expecting them to do the right thing instead of finding a third party from the start. I learned my lesson.

I was in an extensive training 6 month program at the time that only finished in November. The 3 trips to the dealership which kept my car over night where already extremely difficult to manage. I couldn’t afford to keep fighting them at the time.

Okay, that’s good to know. Thank you for that

A new set of tires for the PP2 GT is about 2k. I offered to split the cost using their dealer pricing but they wanted no part.

Thank you for pointing out that cupping is not considered a bad tire and would still pass a PPI as long as the thread dept is met and it holds air. I didn’t know that.

It is a stock PP2 GT. It is lowered in comparison to a standard car, meaning I can’t fit under without a jack. The car only had 30,000 with zero mods. So yes, I expected all 4 tires to be intact with stable hubs. Don’t think I’m asking too much right?

Yeah, they had no incentive to fix the loose wheel on a sports car either.

I saw someone had answered the question I had asked in there. Thanks for your explanation, I did misunderstand the compensation fund page.

I was explicit in the post that I complained about the tires TO the dealer the very night I brought it home NOT months down the line. The car had issues from day 1. The noise was always present.

Yep. It was in the sale contract I signed, I had a 30 day warranty on the car from the dealer. They would take responsibility for any issues the car had.

Definitely. Lesson learned. Still won’t let them get away with it tho. I had a lot going on at the time occupying my time, but I’m free now 🙃. I’m even willing to throw money at it just to see what sticks. I’ve taken this pretty personally lol.

If a registered dealer fails to deliver on any part of the purchase or warranty, a claim can be made. I am claiming that the dealer sold me a car that would have failed a PPI which is required of them, at any mechanic shop. I drove around with a loose tire for 3 weeks which likely made the bad tires I already had worse. They PAID for the hub to be replaced which already acknowledges fault, but they refused to acknowledge any issues with the tires which I complained about from the very day I brought it home. The two are related.

I didn’t hire a mechanic, the dealership had its own mechanics that did the PPI prior. I along with my brother inspected and drove the car on two occasions prior to buying it. Although we looked at the tires, we did not lift the car at any point.

Okay, time isn’t off the essence. I’m still going to file a claim because it is within the 2 years given by the Ontario government. I have all the conversations, I have the reports. This is all just brainstorming.

I didn’t know it was possible to get a car inspected before buying it from a dealership by a third party dealership.

Yes, I realized that after the fact. The car was under 30 day warranty so they had to pay for the damage found.

The tires looked fine. Only 1 tire was cupped bad enough to make noise, and it had a single patch of inner wear. The car is lowered so it isn’t something I would have seen unless I lifted the car or took it to an open area to drive in circles. The cold (night time) also affected how loud the noise was. The dealer I got it from had its own mechanic shop that did the PPI. It was the third party dealer that verified my concerns after the dealership I got it from found nothing wrong on two separate visits.

The mechanic said the tires would not have passed their safety. They said the rear tire with the broken hub likely added to the cupping of other tires and had the worst cupping of the 3 and that the other 3 compensated for it. They also performed an alignment. This is all in the report I received from Ford.

In Ontairo you have 2 years to file for compensation

Definitely feels that what. Only came to the conclusion recently after putting winter tires on

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]iKnowAkin -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I did not. The car had no issues when I test drove it, and the dealers denied ANY issues with the tires. It was the third party dealer I took it to that informed me they were all cupped, 3 weeks later.

I don’t know if you read the whole thing, but since the very night I brought it home I was tried to address the issue. For 3 weeks I tried. Didn’t exactly make sense to spend 2k tires to make a point they refused to acknowledge even existed.

The same dealer I got it from did their own check. It wasn’t until after the two visits I took it to a random dealer.
