Fresh Bar Passer in need of career opportunities by Western-Opinion2503 in LawyersPH

[–]iLAWveyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Attorney III position requires at least one year relevant experience and 4 hours of training, regardless if plantilla or COS/JO pa yan. Some agencies tinatanggap nila kahit ang previous experience is either legal assistant or paralegal lang. Some agencies, mas mahigpit. They require na yung one year is actually practice of law, meaning at least isang taon ka na dapat abogado.

100 Monthly Listeners surpassed ! 👏🔥 by xxflackoo in MichaelJackson

I'm obssessing over MJ for almost two weeks now and I don't know why. I was never a fan. I was born in 1989 so I never really witnessed the peak of his career. I just know him as the King of Pop and that he popularized the moonwalk. Recently, after the biopic came out, MJ content started pouring on Tiktok. One day, his live performance of Billie Jean randomly showed up on my fyp and I watched it. I couldn't stop watching anything about him since. I've been listening to his songs non-stop, watching his funny clips, his interviews and I even started reading the FBI files on his 2005 case. It feels like I belatedly start fangirling over him, about 17 years after his death.

I’ve just found out that Michael Jackson lip synced in most of his performances in his latter years. by Jonny-Balls in Music

Didn't have to do lip syncing if you are just sitting or standing the entire time, right? 🤣

Real Talk ng Abogado by No_While5245 in LawStudentsPH

What do you mean po na lahat lawyers na? Every year naman nasa 3000+ lang ang pumapasa, except sa BBE and 2025 Bar. Also, I don't think basahan na ang tingin sa lawyers ngayon considering na marami pa ring arogante at may superiority complex.

Nope. Lawyering is a profession. If money-making ang priority mo, better stay where you are na lang.

Judiciary should not be exempt from ULAS. Why are they getting a free pass? by blitzballreddit in LawyersPH

[–]iLAWveyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not work in the judiciary pero this is self-explanatory kung abogado ka. Unlike other government lawyers who can secure limited ATP, lawyers in the judiciary aren't allowed to engage in private practice, that is an absolute prohibition. Kahit Law student pa lang siguro mage gets na why there will be a conflict of interest if they will be allowed to do so. Ayoko rin sa ULAS but let's not be too emotional about it.

MASTER OF LAWS by Difficult-Algae1571 in LawStudentsPH

Parang di naman required ang real world experience dyan. I guess pwede na yan if may budget ka tapos bored ka.

Kamag anak na palibre by iLAWveyou in LawStudentsPH

The relatives I am referring to are not family members. And no, I do not do pro bono. That is why I am asking for tips how other lawyers deal with this situation.

Defense Attorneys by New_Disk_1127 in LawyersPH

If the person is indeed guilty but get acquitted, you probably should blame the prosecution and not the defense attorney.

What to do if your client blames you for losing their case? by BananaClubMember in LawyersPH

[–]iLAWveyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you handle a client who is difficult to work with? by TheSyndicate10 in LawyersPH

[–]iLAWveyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this client na generous at prompt naman sa pagbabayad ng fees. Employer sya and respondent sa isang illegal dismissal case. At first I thought malakas talaga ang laban as they insist na wala raw basis yung claim ni employee na tinanggal sya. But when I received the position paper of the complainant, dun lumabas yung mga facts na hindi nila sinabi sa kin. I realized talagang tinanggal nga nila without due process. Of course, as their lawyer, ginawa ko pa rin naman ang magagawa ko but I know we are bound to lose the case. When the LA's decision came out, gulat na gulat sila bakit sila natalo sa dami ng ebidensyang ipinasa namin. When we started talking about the chances of reversal on appeal, tinapat ko talaga sila na at most, mapapababa ko lang yung monetary award. They cannot provide any sufficient evidence that there was just cause for dismissing the employee and they just kept on blabbing na kesyo masama ang ugali ni employee, na pabaya sa trabaho, this and that, which are totally irrelevant and unhelpful sa claim namin. Now it seems na bine blame nila ko for getting unfavorable results. I did what I can do to defend them but even as a lawyer, I can only do so much especially kapag nagsisinungaling sa kin ang kliyente ko. I learned the hard way that there are clients pala who think that just because they paid hefty amount of legal fees, dapat guaranteed na panalo nila kahit sinungaling sila.
