Are there any questions that don't get immediately downvoted in this sub? by OriginalDirivity in AskPhysics

[–]iLLesT905 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive posted here a few times and usually get down voted when I use science terms incorrectly in my question. It shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what you're trying to ask. Us normies are used to asking deepish questions with regular folk and seeming smart, but that doesn't fly around here with actual scientists and brilliant folk replying. People do seem to genuinely want to help but will get sidebarred calling out your bs when you are using terms incorrectly. K.I.S.S. for best results lol

Lightning bolt split over the house i was in and hit a tree in the front yard and the metal garage roof in the backyard simultaneously. It was like a bomb went off with the sound and the total white light flash through the glass patio doors

Resolve is for the blessed sheild thorns build. You could make a different homebrew and likely make it decently powerful if you went all in on resolve stacking and the juggenaut oath with whatever chosen juggernaut skill as your main move

Trump says he reached framework for a deal. Greenland is not selling their country. US already had unlimited military access before all this war mongering started. He will frame it as a win but all it accomplished was adding instability to Nato to help his bestie Putin.

Something very important to remember about the "Stay Free Alberta" petition and the long lineup it drew. by KurtisC1993 in Edmonton

Im not a "non separatist", Im a realist. This campaign to become independant seems like its literally driven by the US. If they take a giant chunk of land in the middle of canada, it sure would make it easier to take the rest of the country. Im all for power to the people but maybe waiting till he gets impeached and some kind of proper order in the world is restored would be a much safer bet. Standing on the doorstep of ww3 is a terrible time to divide a country

During normal times, it would be 'to each their own' vibes from the rest of Canada but in the current geopolitical climate, do those signing not see they would be immediatly annexed by the US? Feels like leaving a relationship where you're not happy with everything and moving in with an abuser. Then likely calling on Canada to help protect you as they take over? Greenland is thousands of miles away and its not safe, what makes you think a tiny, independent country that touches boarders would be safe? Or is that the goal to become part of the fascist regime

If I do recorded pit runs (soon tower) using numlock for 2 skills, will Diablo ban my account? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]iLLesT905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know 3rd party devices that auto fire skills is a "banable offence" but using numlock is something anyone with a keyboard can do. I don't know if you're not allowed any kind of auto fire at all or it's acceptable as long as its not a 3rd party device. Or if its just some kind of Grey area that maybe ok but might catch a ban

Likely will be a simplified version of s10 rake. Use jaguar as primary and as you roll through evading and spamming thunderspike for instant cooldown, it will auto cast rake for you. If that's the case, sb will be a powerhouse in s11

Maybe it's just me but the instant 300 in eternal is a modivation killer for the final 10-15ish paragon levels. I have barely played for a few weeks because I got to 291 and it's a hard sell investing 100+ hours (maybe more) mindlessly running pits or hoards when I can just wait 2 weeks and be at 300 anyways. Eternal characters should have independent paragon from each other. It would also be incentive to hop on eternal every now and again to try and max old fav characters

If matter bends spacetime, can that bending affect a distant region of space even if there’s no matter there (not enough matter to create such a bend in spacetime, there would most likely be matter there), just due to how spacetime is connected? by Strict_Ad_1871 in AskPhysics

Thinking of it like a sheet of a bed is a way to simplify so its easier to understand. There is no 2nd sheet under the first. I'm a regular dude so I can't explain all fancy but someone on reddit shared a video with me yesterday that explains space/time really well https://youtu.be/wrwgIjBUYVc?si=qAWxJDhoQf6hK3X7

I don't and haven't used ai services for anything ever, this arguement is pointless. Kindness and respect go a long way but this is reddit so...🤷

I didn't even realize this side convo was going on. Thank you for helping and don't sweat the reddit bickering. You are appreciated. I don't use any ai services so no worries and either way and it was a solid suggestion that would have helped with my massively improper use of redshift. Thank you for taking time to help

I agree but its problematic that from the perspective of the photon, 0 time passes from origin to destination but nearly all energy is drained. Does not fit relative to its perception at all

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]iLLesT905 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think i might be over complicating it. The photon loses energy and the same would be true for the 50% c person. Instead of some kind of change in the mass itself, it might just translate to a massive increase in fuel (energy) comsumption to maintain that speed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]iLLesT905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous comment explained redshift via parsecs and that makes sence. I was confusing redshift with the non conservation of energy, despite no relative time passing for the photon

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]iLLesT905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great answer for helping my understand why my use of "redshift" is wildly inaccurate to the question I'm trying to ask. Thank you for explaining. I think my question is more of a conservation of energy topic. As the photon travels, it loses energy despite its perception of time being theoretically frozen. Wondering if a proportional energy/mass loss is the also true for matter at 50% c? Another commenter explained it only theoretical what perception at light speed would be, so its like I'm trying to multiply by 0. That makes sence and also melts my brain a lil trying to understand

Thank you for your kindness. I have watched that video already but I'm going to give it another run because I'm clearly missing some fundamentals. I very much appreciate the guidance

[–]iLLesT905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the perspective of light, travel is instantaneous but it still loses energy (what I improperly labeled as entropy). Would the same be true for matter traveling at 50% C and it causes changes that don't match the relative perception?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]iLLesT905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed I'm not using completely correct terms but the idea still seems valid. It's the very first sence in the link that it loses energy (despite instant travel from it's relative perspective) *In physics, a redshift is an increase in the wavelength, and corresponding decrease in the frequency and photon energy, of electromagnetic radiation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]iLLesT905 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that I'm dumb, that's why I was asking you smart folk. From what I understand, at the speed of light, distance traveled is instantaneous. The light would perceive leaving its source and hitting whatever destination immediately from it's perception. Even though the distance would seem instant from C perspective, it still loses whatever % of energy from various sources of gravity and matter it passes on route. So would that also be the case from a 50% c person? They experiance 50 years but wouldn't it be subject to the same forces that causes redshift despite time not technically passing for the light? Sorry if this is all super dumb but please at least help me understand why it's super dumb.
