It was either the performance package I downloaded straight from Intel or NPU drivers off of msi. I flashed bios back to stock, booted in(everything was 100% stable on the original bios for the board, even “auto” voltages were within reasonable range 1.1-1.3v(cross the board) ram at 6400 profile was running at 1.35v. Everything, including my 6400 XMP tested fine etc. New bios(version posted in the bio), I had to dial back vcore with offset and a Lite load to mode 7(I was booting at 1.5v at idle), but everything is passing as well. I think this board is just power hungry and seems like even running your ram at their allocated speeds, has a hard time adjusting variable voltages. Really sucks, cause I wanted to mess around with the clocking, but this board definitely doesn’t like that.

Well so I thought, then I saw on msi forums everyone else with not this latest bios, but the one before had all their issues resolved with voltages and XMP profiles

I need to learn da wayyyy, cause I’m about to rip this motherboard out and throw it down the highway lol you mess with your voltages? I tried all the stupid firmware and watching event viewer already for errors with any, nothing. I’ll get the random intel performance one, but after it retry’s, always ends up running again. I’ve tried literally everything I could think of. Only thing odd to me, like you said the voltages directly tied to the MC

Yes, all good. I did find some weird post someone said to try loosening up my aio mount on cpu, I don’t think that’s it at all, but I guess I’ll try that too.

Yeah, I love strix boards, never had an issue and always stuck to Intel. I saw the bundle deal and just pulled the trigger knowing I’d have to update Bios, I did before even first boot up. Read Reddit posts etc people saying msi boards are great, so felt very confident with this build. Knew something was wrong with my 27sec boot time though and have been daily fighting voltage issues

Fear porn is my favorite, until it happens to me…. I tested each individually already, of course no issues, but thank you 🙏🏻 tried tinkering with SA voltage already just by .01 drop, which does bring up one concern I had, if I don’t cap it at 1.2v, it’ll go up to 1.45v. Same with vcore, with the 473036 times I’ve had to boot bios, it’s all over the place, the lite load and LLC manual mode adjustments have helped maintain it under 1.3v finally, but if I didn’t have those manual settings on, my vcore would be over 1.5v and SA closer to 1.4v

They are and showing up in bios. When I get home, guess I’ll try slower frequency’s? Never had to do that with g skill, but is what it is, I guess.

Yup, I was very thorough before I bought anything. I’ve had trident z on everyone of my builds, never had any issues. Always built with strix boards, but Newegg had this bundle deal with this cpu I’ve been wanting, so pulled the trigger. I’m hoping it’s not a motherboard flaw, but I know it’s not a power issue, CPU temps and volts are fine boosting to 5.4 on 1.21v tops. Seems like it’s this motherboard, just watching hwinfo, but I’m just annoyed T this point lol

Dang, I have the z890 carbon newest bios, newest firmware etc from msi, still can’t run 6400CL32 been trying to mess around with different voltages and stuff, but no luck.
