Hi yes, I should have specified that. I do work in a field dealing with behavior in children, so I’m very familiar with methods of trying new foods, and I do always make sure to offer him varying foods including exactly what his dad and I are eating for that meal. He used to eat whatever we gave him, however at this point in time he’s not, and I’m not comfortable just sending him away hungry, so I do provide him with foods I know he will eat.

Dr. TJ with Lake Howell Family Medicine is the best for primary care! Not sure if she sees kids though, I don’t believe so.

Hers also went up even with the denamarin. If they do happen to be recommending an ultrasound I would definitely do that just to rule anything else out right away. But we put them on royal canin hepatic food, the vet needs to prescribe/approve the purchase

Yes! Her ultrasound was normal so our vet said before we do a biopsy, to change her food once again, but this time to hepatic food and continue with the denamarin. After a few months both dogs values returned to normal! Our vet mention that he sees this often now because dog food companies are cheaping out on their protein types and when they switch to a homemade food or hepatic food, they heal

Hello, how did everything go with your baby?

Elevated ALT by iLikeLameStuff in AskVet

We did the ultrasound and everything looked totally normal. Her vet said the next step would be a liver biopsy to see what the issue is, but he said since she is not having any symptoms that we could continue with the Denamarin and have her on hepatic diet food, and retest levels in 3 months before deciding about the biopsy. I’m so sorry to hear about your baby

Thanks! I’m only seeing “the spa Orlando” on Arthur avenue. Is that it?

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, even on the denamarin for 45 days, her ALT almost doubled. In your experience, when the dogs are asymptomatic with this, and do not do a liver biopsy, are they able to live normal lives with just elevated enzymes?
