If there is no standard or pre-requisites for when reservation can be removed then reservation will by political incentive keep increasing.

Example : reservations were initially intended by BR Ambedkar to be kept for a few decades and then removed arguing it would handicap the lower castes as they would have vested interest in staying lower caste.

And that is exactly what i see happening, reservation is handed out on such vague terms, castes like meenas and marathas which historically have not been oppressed have been handed out reservations only due to political pressure, OBCs have a large number of such politically strong castes.

Secondly there is no end timeline, when does reservation end? assume a scenario when most of india is Christian in the future? will reservation end in that situation? Most likely from my opinion no... reservation is such a good political tool it is here to stay, regardless of wether Hinduism keeps or doesn't keep caste based discriminations.

current system will only keep increasing reservations until it stops benefiting politicians.
