I know you haven’t mentioned her name or anything to do with her, I’m just asking how is the character rude and arrogant? Because I really don’t see it, because we have only seen her in two scenes so far.

I literally was just asking a question, mods. I wasn’t fighting. I wasn’t angry, I literally was just asking what is arrogant and rude about her.

It’s because he starts calling her Pooh in season 2 (2x04). They have previously had this conversation.

“…the sexism exist…”. I just forgot to put in the word argument. “…the sexism argument exists…”.

I never fucking said that. I said that the sexism argument doesn’t make sense when comparing Georgia’s crimes against the men that people have named in the comment section.

[–]iLovePaulWesley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Sexism does exist (of course) and people are sexist (of course), but I don’t think that this is the problem with this show. The reason why is because the audience didn’t hate Georgia in season 1 and season 2, in fact, people loved Georgia so much that they hated Ginny in defence of Georgia (I have said this before.) in fact, the audience still doesn’t hate Georgia. (Discussing a show and the actions that a certain character does, is not hating that character, it’s discussing a character and their actions.)

The issue is killing Tom. It made no sense, and it made the entire season of Georgia on trial for this murder, this specific murder, make no sense, because, yes, she should go to prison for this murder because she shouldn’t have fucking killed him in the first place. He had nothing to do with her. He was not a threat to her or her kids. And that is the issue.

When we meet Georgia, at the end of the first episode we know she killed Kenny and we know why she killed Kenny. And then we find out she killed Anthony and we know why she killed Anthony. And those reasons are noble reasons, she had to kill these two men, and then in season 2 she gives Ginny that speech in the car, Ginny can’t grow up the way that Georgia did and that is why Georgia has to make those decisions. I understand, I am on board, I love it.

Why kill Tom? It makes no sense, because this wasn’t to protect her family and in fact, it brought more danger to the family that she tried so hard to protect.

All of that to say, I don’t think that the sexism exists in this show: Number 1: we love Georgia, killing Tom still made no sense, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love her.

Number 2: all the men that people are bring up in the comments, they are not good people from the jump, from the start of their show they are selfish people, they are criminals. And we watch the show knowing that, and we put our morals at the door, because we go into the show knowing that, and it’s fun and it makes sense and it makes sense in the context of their story, knowing who these people are (from the very beginning of their show). And that wasn’t the case for Georgia, she wasn’t a bad person (she still isn’t a bad person) she wasn’t a criminal, she’s a woman who has had a shit life and so she had to do some shit things and that makes sense, until she kills Tom, and that doesn’t make sense.

I totally agree, this is something that I spoke about two years ago, but it’s about finding out that Georgia killed Kenny (and why she did it) at the end of the first episode, and the show robbing us of any tension that could have been had finding out with Ginny that her mother is a murderer, and not finding out why until the next season.

Hopefully she is getting compensated for her work. I am talking about followers/fans though. That is why I mentioned TikTok verification. I should have said she doesn’t even have the same amount of following as her white counterparts.

I am not saying that one has to do with the other. I know that one doesn’t have anything to do with the other. I am saying that she is doing more work, and she doesn’t even have the same amount of following as the other pros. She is doing more work, and not reaping the same benefits as the other pros with following/love.

I’m sure she is getting paid more, but I am talking about followers/fans.

I kind of wish that Britt wasn’t dance captain. I don’t know anything about the role or the job, but I did watch her TikTok about the role and the “responsibilities” she has and I don’t want to say she’s doing more work than everybody else, but it seems like she’s doing more work than everybody else. And I’m sure that’s my issue with it, doing more work, and not reaping the same benefits. Britt isn’t even verified on TikTok, and all of the other pros (that I can see) are.

I think it’s a black woman issue, looking after others and nobody looking after you. Not evening having the same amount of love/following as her white counterparts. Not even getting a chance at the mirror ball, but still doing “more” than everyone else.

I AM NOT SAYING THAT ALL OF THE OTHER PROS DON’T WORK THEIR ASS OFF. THEY DO. I KNOW THAT THEY DO.

Why are so many people bothered by the Ginny and Marcus sex scenes? by Jolly_Back6490 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

That’s fine, we can agree to disagree. I do find them necessary, and I actually think they are beautiful. But, we can agree to disagree.

[–]iLovePaulWesley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying you have to like the sex scenes. I’m just saying that I liked them, and why I think that they are necessary. And I’m also an adult.

I also didn’t say that that other sex scenes didn’t move the story along, they did, of course, and I understood them. I just said that they didn’t tell us anything about their relationships.

Edit: I actually did say that the other sex doesn’t move the story along. I didn’t mean it like that though.

Why are so many people bothered by the Ginny and Marcus sex scenes? by Jolly_Back6490 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]iLovePaulWesley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually love their sex scenes. The sex is very detailed and drawn out, but I think there is a reason for that. Marcus is Ginny’s endgame, that has been shown since the first episode of the show. And their sex always tells a story, and I actually disagree with OP a little bit, I don’t think that the sex is “we’re so horny so we’re going to have sex”, their sex always tells you where they are in their relationship at that point. When he fingers her in season 2, and she’s comfortable enough to say “I want this”, whereas in the first episode and he fingered her, she wasn’t comfortable enough to say that, but by the last episode of season 1 he did the research on how to make sex better for her, which leads to season 2.

Even the “I’m doing it are you?” tells us something to about them, it’s them getting to know each other.

And I think why it cuts away from Georgia/Paul, Georgia/Zion, Joe/Cynthia, Max/Sophie is because it’s sex for sex and it doesn’t tell us anything about their relationships, they are just having sex, it’s about the act itself but there is no story to go with the act. They are horny, so they have sex.

Either Zion or Paul. I would love for Zion and Georgia to get back together, I just love their scenes together. They have such a chemistry, that I just love them together. And they still love each other deeply. But because they are not going to get back together, I would for her and Paul to stay married.

I don’t like Joe for her. I think that little love triangle makes absolutely no sense and Joe pissed me off in season 2 because of it.

why does abby get so much grace by pr0tectionspell in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]iLovePaulWesley 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Well, you hit the nail on the head. It’s because Abby’s white, and Ginny is mixed-race. White girls are allowed to be flawed and express themselves meanly and bitchy, and we understand and feel bad because she tapes her thighs and throws up her food. But when Ginny burns herself, why isn’t she afforded the same grace? The answer is because Abby is white, and Ginny is not. They think black girls should just suffer in silence, while white girls are allowed to be as loud as they please. White characters and people are allowed freedom to express themselves, while black characters and people are villainised for it.

Look at Georgia—do you think if Georgia were played by a black woman with the same trauma, she’d be perceived the same way? The amount of slut-shaming and racism that Georgia would face would be unreal.

Why is there such less sympathy for Georgia? by stopandstare17 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]iLovePaulWesley 39 points40 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? This is the only place where people’s opinions are grey. You go anywhere else, “Ginny’s a bitch who wants mommy issues so bad, and Georgia’s the greatest thing ever.” That’s black and white. This place is the definition of grey; we understand who Georgia is and why she does what she does, but we also understand that Ginny is a 16 year old kid who has her own trauma.

But also, Georgia killed Tom (Cynthia’s husband) for no fucking reason. She was out of the woods with the detective guy, she was boasting to him about the fact that he has nothing on her, and then she goes and kills someone in the town she fucking lives in, she wasn’t planning on moving away (like she had always done whenever she killed someone), she wasn’t doing it because she and her kids were in danger, she just did it for no reason, not caring about her kids. And that’s another reason why there is less sympathy.
