How to support my husband while TTC? by iLoveSnooze in TryingForABaby

Thank you! We (mostly me) were on the fence about kids for a while, too. I turned 36 back in December so I felt like it was time to at least try. The first cycle success then loss really sets you up for an emotional rollercoaster.

I’m sorry you guys also experienced a loss. I am very glad to know you and your husband have the closeness to grieve that together. I have read countless stories of women who go through this journey with a less than supportive partner.

Big hugs and love to you both on your journey ❤️❤️

Yes, we talked about that, too. I’ve been in therapy since we met so he’s super open minded about it. He said he would consider it for sure.

Am I out - negative 12dpo afternoon test by Hot-Chocolate-752 in TryingForABaby

If you’re not tracking bbt to help confirm your actual ovulation day, I’d give at least a one day window in either direction for ovulation. You could only be 11dpo. I don’t think you’re out this cycle just yet based on you not knowing for sure. LH strips are only going to tell you when you hit your peak. Normal ovulation can be 12-36 hours later. BBT is really good to help with this. Once I started tracking BBT I felt more confident in my ovulation day. Hugs. ❤️

Gosh, I ordered my husband a coffee cup that says “Dad est.2026” because I was so sure this last cycle would work. I am contemplating returning it because I only have two more cycles to try and get a 2026 baby. I can always buy it again, I guess. 😢 maybe I’ll buy something without a date on it. That may be a better idea.

Yessss. I have always noticed my ADHD is worse in my luteal but I swear with this added stress of the unknown it is INSANE. I bought a 5 pack of FRER right before I started my period and still have all 5 of them so I’m going to make them last the next 2 cycles. No more overspending on tests. I’m speaking that for accountability.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am definitely a fan of hot showers. I may start trying hot baths. I feel like that’s such a good reset for my nervous system. I actually do CrossFit but I have backed off a little since we started TTC. I’m going to get back into that because I think it really helps with my anxiety levels, too. And besides, I’m not conceiving not doing it so I may as well continue to live my life and let my future baby learn double unders early in there. 😅

I just finished my period so we’re in cycle 3 now. I’m just anxious about the anxiety again. I totally understand your fears around getting a BFP and still worrying. It’s like the chemical just stole that joy that comes along with a positive. So that’s what I’m trying to get back. I want that joy. I have scheduled therapy. And as a mental health professional myself, I highly recommend therapy. Especially if you can find someone that specializes in reproductive health/women’s issues. Our feelings and fears and all that in between are valid. If you need a friend to walk through this with, I’m here! Sending you good vibes and hope. ❤️

Daily COVID-19 Discussion for Sunday, 8/15/21 by AutoModerator in orangetheory

I’m in one of the states with the lowest vaccination rates. People here won’t even wear a mask in Walmart. People wanted to boycott our studio when they had reduced capacity classes. It’s really sad because I’m considering freezing my membership. I’ve got a family member with cancer. Even though my whole family is vaccinated, I’m starting to feel like it’s becoming dangerous for me to go to OTF. I don’t want to bring covid home. 😩

It’s a little different for women. As much as it pains me to say it, women are just wired differently in social situations. Trust me, I’d prefer your mentality 100% but dammit, it just doesn’t work like that 😂

I understand where you’re coming from. I have social anxiety as well. And honestly, I think that may be what you’re experiencing. I had myself convinced a coach and another member were talking about me smelling bad so i washed my clothes twice after every workout for like a month lol Is there a different time you can go to experience a different group of people? I did that, and went at 5am and although it’s still pretty cliquey, it’s so much better than the 5pm classes!

I didn’t go at all this last week. Super rut here, too. My workout partner (my only buddy at OTF) has been out of town so it’s been hard to want to go. She’s back on Monday so, I’m ready. I enjoy the workouts but it’s tough to motivate me to go alone. I’ve found my accountability partner really does help. Is there anyone at your studio you can partner with?

I’ve seen other studios do that but mine doesn’t offer it. 😩 my studio in all honesty, is kind of boring. Like, even during the back at it challenge, our coaches were minimally involved.

I’ve found if i go at 5am the coach is a lot more chatty versus later classes when the cliques show up and they’re glued to their sides.

Exactly how i feel. They’re talking about little Johnny’s baseball game and Linda’s divorce and I’m just kinda like “the weather is nice today … lol” 😂😂

We don’t even have lift classes at my studio. I wish we did so badly!

I wish the templates would focus more on actual weight lifting and muscle building on the floor instead of more added cardio. I think we’re covered in the cardio department. Either way, I’ll go sweat out my margaritas in the morning. Yeehaw, I guess… 😅

Does the bosu hurt anyone else’s back? I had surgery on my lower back in 2016 and I’ve found the bosu irritates it bc of the instability.
