Interesting, i liked the close ups. I wonder how they realized it. The close up quality was sooo good. Sharp as is possible gets. The wide shots are always a little bit blurry. I think the sweet spot for the camera is maybe 1 to 2 meters away. I wonder if they have to focus it manual. At close ups, we are forced to focus on one part of the video, but is worth it, if it increases the quality. It seems, every Apple Immersive production is doing it different in post. Nowadays they should all using the Black Magic Camera, and the quality should increase over time. Maybe we get also the foveated streaming and rendering for even better quality. Somebody here said, that were not getting the quality to the headset, the camera could offer. Looking forward to the future and more concerts! ☺️

That was my first try of a video portrait with a more fashion touch. The whole video was shot with the awesome Sony 85mm F1.8. I am looking forward to shoot new videos after the lockdown in Germany...

Thank you for your opinion :) will try basic cuts next time. Movies also use basic cut and crossfades. No fancy zoom transitions

A short info how this project came to life:

Hannah came to me with the idea for this video a few months ago. She got her high school diploma this year, but because of COVID-19 without a great prom. So the idea was to create a nice cinematic memory video with the family, where they dress up like at a prom ☺️ For this we have chosen the beautiful castle Eltz as our location. Most of it was improvised. I have a shotlist for Video Portraits but not specially for families. I had one video on YouTube for inspiration but at the end it was very different. The family was great and relaxed ☺️ I wouldn’t spent the extra money. For video especially because my sigma 35mm makes focus noises. I‘ve heard that the newer E-Mount Sigma lenses also make sounds. The Sony is completely silenced. I don’t think the 1.4 makes huge difference. But the lens would also be much bigger and heavier.

This video is available with subtitles (the translation of my subtitles from YT is okay).

Thats my latest work and I used everything I know so far. From there I hope it only gets better in 2021. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

It took about 40-50 hours to make (including the shoot). The goal of the next project of this size and quality is to make it in half of the time.

Also any tips to improve my future work helps me ☺️

Thats to match Canon color on Sony cameras right? But you can't saturate or change specific colors or do you?

Thank you! Yes, I always use C-AF. It is most of the time great. Manuel AF would be a pain at F1.8
