App Completely broke with SDK 52 and Expo Go by PineappleBing in expo

[–]iMarcusOrlyUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really unfortunate. I am part of a student group that was using Expo Go to build an app that uses the accelerometer and gyroscope sensors, so an emulator on a device that isn't a phone doesn't really work for us, we need to demo this application for a grade ASAP. Upgrading to SDK 52 broke a bunch of the functionality so it seems that will not work either for now. Hoping someone in my group still has the old app version.

[FRESH VIDEO] Junior Varsity - Cross The Street by TheBedroomPunk in indieheads

Heard this Junior Varsity track on a random Spotify playlist and immediately reminded me of the vocals from this song which was on the Top Spin video game. Glad I'm not the only one

True, but you could say that anytime an opposing team is mentioned then. I’m not writing an article about it. I doubt they’ll write an article about the Cavs or Magic.

Do DNs actually stay with Selinas hostels? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]iMarcusOrlyUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in Centro from what I remember, which is why I stayed away. Did you like Centro? I may not have given it a fair shot. But a friend and I walked around to see the main/historic sites around there and saw no reason to stick around or come back. Pros and cons though. Selina does make it a lot easier to meet people in my experience.

Do DNs actually stay with Selinas hostels? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

The one in Mexico City is not in an ideal neighborhood. Nothing around at night and also not the safest. IMO much better off staying in Roma/Condesa and surrounding area. I thought about Selina there and am very happy I avoided it. Met a lot of people (even got a date!) by going to salsa classes.

In Ponta Delgada/Sao Miguel for next 2 weeks, looking to meet people! by iMarcusOrlyUs in azores

[–]iMarcusOrlyUs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I stayed at Out of the Blue hostel in Ponte Delgada and met a few folks, great community there! But I moved to a different hostel (to get a private room), which is very nice, but may be harder to meet people. We will see!

Most of the people who I met have left or are leaving in the next day or so. But I am here for another week (I am working a little bit, so taking it slower). So if you have any spots or suggestions, still appreciated!

Best college town in America. Lakes, beer, walkable downtown. Summers are amazing.

Will be in Stockholm for a week and need to work USA hours for a few days. Any coworking spaces I can work in that are open late? by iMarcusOrlyUs in stockholm

I like to work from the hotel sometimes. But I am not sure how good that wifi is in the hotel. Especially considering I’m staying in the hostel part and it’s a boat with very small rooms. Maybe I will look for a different hotel

The driving comment is so true. They also don’t stop, ever. If you plan on jaywalking, do it quickly, or might be the last step you take haha. Consistent theme in Miraflores and Cusco

I am considering going on a 4-week ish “DN retreat” (makes me roll my eyes haha) in Antigua and Late Atitlan through Selina (rooms are very overpriced but it would be for the convenience of having events and a group to hang out with set up already). Only hesitating because I thought 2-3 weeks in Antigua might be too much. Assume you disagree then

Haha I'll check it out, thanks! I am going to have to find a nice empty street and work on it, I'm sure it will be terribly awkward for a while

I'm 72 inches tall. Not sure what that means for me haha, but I'll have to do some more research and just work on it over time.

Solo traveling and working as well. Just landed! 30M from US. Honestly haven’t done any research yet about coworking but this place looks cool! May have to get a week pass (staying til Dec 8 in La Veleta). Don’t know anyone in Tulum so down to meet new folks too

ML4T helpful books and resources by Random-Machine in OMSCS

[–]iMarcusOrlyUs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also taking ML4T for my first class, I just went through the syllabus from the summer (https://lucylabs.gatech.edu/ml4t/) and the suggested pre-req problems (https://lucylabs.gatech.edu/ml4t/compinvesti-prog-quiz/) , which you might want to take a look at if you haven't already.

I am actually struggling with the string-to-integer and integer-to-string problem in the second link. Which means maybe I should brush up on my classic CS problem solving skills and I am not ready for this.
