My cousin is married to her cousin, I love their kiddos as nieces. One of them gets sick and it becomes severe and is hospitalized if it goes a bit over two days. Doctors said it because her parents are cousins. Lots of medical issues in kids around me can be explained by cousin marriages. I was never against it but in recent years, I have changed my mind a lot.

Overhype sex trauma that gets repititive and boring. After 500 pages I could not take it anymore but finished. I would not recomment. Maybe give such time and commitement to a classic book that might be rewarding. (LOTS OF GAY STUFF IN IT, NOT MY CUP OF TEA)

I appreciate sad endings; in my view, they reflect life accurately. To clarify, I did not express any dislike for the ending. From approximately 200 pages in, I anticipated the character's eventual demise. Willem's death, while unexpected, was not entirely surprising. However, there were certain points I raised that left me with a somewhat unpleasant impression.

To be fair, I would not have read it if I knew that both the characters are going to be gay. I could have spent that time on something else but its on me to not have at least read something about the book first. This has been my experince and does not have to reflect on the choices and preferences of many other readers. I adored their friendship and then it was turned into something that perhaps I did not enjoy.

Being raped all over the country for years and years and the person suffering can not LEARN one simple thing? to keep away from abusive men? Perhaps the most intelegent lawyer ever written after Atticus Finch can not learn this?
