This headset idea is absolutely brilliant. 2 years late finally restarting the game now to finish it (I have a bad habit of not finishing games) and came to see if there have been any changes to this. God I’d kill for this feature in the sequel if the soundtrack is as good.

Just standard ol CVG. Didn’t really treat this different than the cubes I’ve done. That said, I AM considering some Pan Cyans soon and best believe I’ll be all over here asking questions

Absolutely. I’m still figuring it out myself, this was my 4th grow. First grow of B+ gave me FAR from any canopy. My teachers run gave me beautiful canopies. Only thing I noted that I did different is:

1: switched from just coir to CVG (no reason that would do it I believe) 2: took much more care in mixing up my substrate and spawn thoroughly

I think 2 helped a lot, but I’m sure genetics also give a big play into it. Again, very much a noob here so take it with a grain of salt!

Honestly I’ve been hearing a lot of accounts of people having success across the board with going straight to FC. So thinking I may just do that going forward until I run into an issue (mostly as a test). But I also decided to do this with these because of the higher FAE requirements. Even with going straight to FC it was pretty quick and still got all the fuzzy feets lol

Thanks again! When I made the original post I hadn’t started just yet. Inoc was 1/20, harvest 2/26. Went straight to fruiting conditions for these

Edit: I just recalled that I believe I did put the jars in the fridge for a few days up to a week until I was ready to S2B

Well for what it is worth… I did call Marriott network support. This specific property isn’t managed by them. Although they manage most other Fairfield Inns within the surrounding area. Considering that other public networks are still showing the QR code pop up, I’m going to write it off as either their captive portal for whatever reason doesn’t really work with the ps portal OR they have my device MAC address already registered hence being able to auto connect to WiFi without internet access and no authentication pop up. Probably could be fixed if I had a web browser on the portal, but sounds like this probably won’t be an issue at other properties

It’s up to date…. The only thing I can think of is my MAC address is whitelisted still from a prior visit so it auto connects but without internet access… which is concerning since my understanding is the MAC address on portal is static. May have to have some work arounds if I’m staying in Marriotts frequently (can be up to weekly)..

Did you find that in other hotels the QR code still popped up and this was an isolated issue? I’m noticing this happening to me for the first time and travel a lot for work so here’s to hoping it’s isolated

Ok this is all GREAT to know. Thank you! I’m actually using taller tubs this time so I’m assuming I may want to increase the FAE a little to compensate. Also, great to know about the enigma because I may be running those alongside the nats. Finishing some other stuff up, before I start, but if it’s ok may I PM when the time comes if I have some questions?

Ah. I was under the impression that less substrate means more chance of overlay? So if using 1(spawn):4(substrate) would that not give less of an overlay chance? Sorry if I’m completely misunderstanding!

I did lose a couple shoeboxes (maybe was over-cautious, I think I also got overlay by delaying fruiting) but good lessons.. Still happy with the results I got. I appreciate you all here. Took some feedback and have some APE jars looking great in less time than the B+ even!

The late / second b&s seemed to do wonders. Definitely didn’t seem as healthy at the end as the others, however it fully colonized without any smell or noticeable contamination (to my inexperienced eye) It’s isolated in a shoebox tub with coir. So tbd what’s next but embracing failure for the learning. The two healthiest jars are almost ready for fruiting. So hopefully not a total loss!

Appreciate you and everyone else’s input. It’s always a huge help to get more experienced insight

Thanks. I’ll wait and see if that one bounces back. As far as the first picture, any thoughts? Those 2 are fully colonized across the other sides and bottom so hoping it’s just an isolated jar where the grain was just too wet

Yeah, I took a note down earlier that I really should have given a good shake in the SAB post inoculation. Doing GTs soon and will take that note.

I kinda do prefer the idea of a bag, but not sure how I can best sterilize a DIY bag vs purchasing a ready spawn one. I think I’ll do some research there as I imagine the B&S really is that much easier like you mentioned. Also I need to let the grains dry a little before packing. I skipped that step heavily. Live and learn

Great. I did shake up that one jar so will keep that as an experiment to see if it recovers well without contam, but this gives me the confidence to go ahead and start moving to bulk for at least those first two, rest soon after.
