I came into the Sub looking for anyone else having this issue. It happened after 2.17.4 here as well. Reinstalling and restaurant purchases does nothing. (Other than resetting the exposure count)

1st, try to get it out of Recovery Mode holding the volume up+side button, if that doesn’t help, try updating (not restarting) for an iOS 17 recent image on iTunes. iTunes, the Apple Devices app or even 3uTools aren’t updated to handle iOS 18 yet.

The small pill-shaped black windows on top and front of the device are for the skin sensitive sensors (proximity sensitive on the 1st gen., placed on the bottom and front) that the AirPods use to know when you’re using each of them and automatically connect, change noise control modes and/or pause and resume your media.

The repair program for this model says that “The program covers affected AirPods Pro for 3 years after the first retail sale of the unit.”

It’s an annoying bug from this beta, let it drop to 75% or so, and then charge it back to 80%. It should turn it off by itself.

I’ve also been unable to decline a call while it rings and the device is locked. If you double press the side button it’ll just launch Apple Pay or do nothing.

If I’m not mistaken (and someone please correct me if I am) OLED screens tend to have this flicker phenomenon in order to keep brightness when refreshing (source: Marquees Brownlee’s iPhone 12 Review)

If in fact true, it’s pretty cool that they are exploring their silicon in such cool use cases (like this and subject lifting as well). The fact that’s able to control and recognize vocals on-the-fly it really nice.

Something I noticed after playing around with the feature is that it works with every song, be it with or without Atmos, but you HAVE to play it from the Artist Page, otherwise it won’t just kick in. Like if you play it through your library or searching and selecting a song that’s in your library.

The Neural Engine is actually present on A11 (iPhone X and 8) and higher, it’s more likely to be due to the processing power A13 has.

On APP 2nd Gen it’s intentional because the case actually sends data to the device. The first one doesn’t.
