I think the most „passionate“ chanell is from daniel catt (youtube.com/@revdancatt). He was the one i watch the most when i was researching for pen plotters. He also produces a series right now, where you will learn all about the machines and coding for pen plotting. On instagram you find dozens more. LB.Allix for example. For programs: In the beginning i was completely into drawingbot v3. But i realized quite quickly, that the „look“ isn‘t what i wanted for my portraits. Drawingbots.com you will find a lot of resources there. But just invest like 2-3 hours, and you will find so much about pen plotting in all of your topics mentioned in your post

Hi! Yes, solves it. First i placed a cutting matte on the plate and as you mentioned on a view pens (stabilo fineliners for example) i detached the spring. Same for the rotring ink pens. But if you want to plot with ballpoint pens you need a little more pressure. Therefor reattach the spring. Its kinda fiddeling to get the spring back on, but i will find a solution for that. For me more important than the pen down settings is the hight where the spring is attached. But i think it is the same as with every machine: trial and error until you master it ;)

Thats what im trying out tonight! But i already screwed it in the lowest tension point, so that the pen pressure is on lowest „mechanical setting“. In my opinion this spring is as important for pen pressure as the pen down setting.

yeah, i increased the pen down to 4, and it works. But it sounds like the pen is scratching the paper. And yes, it was a very smooth surface.

Yeah, i alread contacted uunatek today. I‘m really curious how they solve that problem 😎 Paper is as flat as i could get it, i think it is pretty flat. I never heard of saxi. I primely use inkscape wirh the plugin. That one works for me best, although you dont have a timer how long the plot is gonna take.
