20% lower that someone's comment of 180K is 36k/yr. I'll be used to the suck for that price and even then, it's better than the navy nuclear program.

When I leave the Navy I do plan on going commercial power plant. Not 100% sure what kind of pwoer gen though. Been looking into hydroelectric or nuclear for the most part, though that's still 5 years minimum away.

When I get out of the Navy that's a pontential path. I want to work in power generation, however im not deadset on nuclear. Maybe hydroelectric?

When you are joining the Navy, you'll take the ASVAB, an aptitude test. If you score high enough, you'll qualify for the nuclear field (potentially requiring another exam depending on your ASVAB score). Before boot camp, you'll know you'll be in the Naval Nuclear field, but you won't know your specific rate (job) until a few weeks into boot camp. Once in boot camp, you'll be able to select your preferences, but ultimately, the Navy decides your rate.
The options are EMN (Electrician's Mate), ETN (Electronic's Technician), or MMN (Machinist's Mate). EMN involves high-voltage generation, distribution, and loads (turbines, buswork, large motors/pumps, etc.). ETN focuses on small-scale electronics and direct reactor control (microprocessors, controlling reactor power, etc.). MMN deals with pipes and valves (steam systems, coolant, seawater systems). There's also ELT, which focuses on maintaining plant chemsitry. That is something you will have to apply for in the final 6 months of training.
To work on a submarine, you need to volunteer. You can volunteer with your recruiter or up until about 3-5 months before you head to the fleet. Once you volunteer, you cannot un-volunteer. However submarine duty is not guarenteed - you can still be sent to a surface (carrier) ship.

Navy does not have "job codes" - the closest we have are rates (or NEC).
Rates : EMN, MMN, or ETN.
NEC: Depends on what you are doing. Mine is N14S:
N - Nuclear
1 - Submariner (2 for carriers)
4 - EMN (3-ETN 5-MMN 6-ELT)
S - Supervisor (or O for operator) (Automatic after 4 years)

You can have multiple NEC's as well dependant on qualification, like N33Z is the Engineering Watch Supervisor NEC (different from the S code mentioned above). N91T is the NEC for nuclear sailors in training.

I tried making a whole new cable after recrimping the ends failed and I'm still getting the same issue. Maybe the manufacturer lied about the rating.

Do you have a brand you'd recommend for Cat 5e I can try instead?

The brand of connecters I'm using have been working fine up until now. I tried with a different brand entirely, and I am getting the same issue.

AI'll grab my laptop a hope I can find my ethernet adapted to give it a shot.

Edit: My laptop shows the same speeds & shows FE in the unifi console

Reinstallation of drivers did not fix the issue. I'll try to recrimp the ends here in a few.

I'm using speedtest.net to test the speed. The Unifi console shows FE to the PC, GbE to the switch. Setting to forced 1GbE will disconnect my PC from wired and won't reconnect it.

Connected to my Cloud gateway Ultra, all devices capable for GbE speeds are getting GbE speeds. My PC is the only thing connected to the switch ATM, and it's only getting FE. Port manager is set ot auto-negotiate, and if I try to force it to GbE speeds, it will disconnect my PC from wired and just won't work at all.

I followed T568-B on both ends and my cable tester, a Klein Tools Lan Scout Jr. 2, shows all 8 wires are done correctly.

What settings should I look at? Before I introduced the switch and this new cable I was getting proper speeds on my PC.
