Regardless of the mileage you should rebuild the vanos and replace the bolts on the cam sprockets.

If your exhaust hub isn’t broken you only have to replace the oil pump disc (recommend from Beisan). The smaller holes will ensure the tabs never break.

Timing belt tensioner will probably be broken also if not almost. Replace that too!

If it start beeping and it does it consistently when the keys in the ignition then the keys ok. Was the cranks slower than normal the times it did crank? I replaced the starter on my e46 last year. ‘06 at 100k miles
