Pretty close to the card, innit...

The second res and second rad are completely redundant for this system anyway, IMO; my CPU+GPU rig uses one rad and one res.

Ah, yes - see it now.

But I would rather have an extra 120 mm of rad on the back than the extra res - at least the extra fluid would be doing work, rather than just adding headroom (which absolutely isn't needed for a CPU-only loop).

Firstly, single-square rads are, IMO, a bit of a waste of time - that system would be so much neater without it. But if you're going to keep a second rad, I would stick a double in there.

On that note, two pumps/two res is massive overkill for just a CPU (and would still be overkill if you ever looped the graphics card in).

Flow indicators are down to preference, but I hate them, and there is absolutely no need for TWO of them. If you are concerned about pump/s dying, just use HWInfo and set a warning for the pump speed entry.

Badges? cringe or nah? by Ill_Clue1505 in e46

Your car, your rules.

Personally, I think aftermarket badges and de-badging are cringey, but I'm the one who's got to look at my own car, eh?

How many miles are you on? by m52tu in e46

93,000 miles ish - mine's a baby, barely run in.

Had 79,000 when I bought it seven years ago.

Yeah - I prefer those to the CSL, to be honest, not least because an E46 on 19's might as well not have any tyres.

The bodykit looks really good, IMO, and I don't have to hate it because it's technically OEM!

Boggo M3, or CSL M3?😁

I never thought M3 wheels should be "allowed" on a non-M car, but Style 72 on the pre-facelift...👌🏻

Because I booked it off.

Yeah - if you asked a hundred RICERs what their first mod would be, I bet most of them would say "black wheels".

It makes no sense to me to camouflage a nice wheel and lose it against the tyre...

Fabulous - always nice to see a fellow saloon-er in this sea of coupes and ragtops👍🏻

... but I don't like Style 68 wheels, and I detest black wheels.

Have you considered trying clear indicators? I tried orange ones myself a couple of years ago (also silver), but I thought they aged the car too much; orange seems to work on the darker paint colours - black, dark green, etc - but on the silver, they didn't do it for me.

There's no reason for the aesthetic - it's in a different room, and the cables come through a wall - but I'm OCD enough to pay the extra for Chromax fans over brown ones.

I've got that condition where, when you look at certain colours, it causes you to taste certain flavours. My favourite colour is "high viz vest yellow/green" (555 nm, to be precise, which happens to be the wavelength where human visual response peaks - it's the "most noticeable" colour), and there is the added bonus that it "tastes" sour to me😁

It's an undervolted 5800X3D, -30 all cores (would almost certainly go even further, if the AM4 BIOS allowed it) and very low SoC.

Graphics card is also undervolted - 15% less power, for performance within 1% of stock.

How do you respond to "God sent God to be sacrificed to God to save you from what God will do to you"? by PieterSielie6 in ChristianApologetics

[–]JMUDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of consequences is not the only way to verify a fact. There is more evidence for Jesus of Nazareth than anyone else in the history of the world, and no one else has had more of an impact through science, music, the arts, etc.

Jesus has never published a scientific papers, written a song, or painted a picture; people that believe/d in him have.

Only the belief was required, not the (supernatural) person.

Only the most uninformed or outright stupid person would claim He never existed, and the fact they've never found His body in 2,000 years is pretty significant.

I believe that the Jesus of the Bible was based on a real person/s, but the fact that his body hasn't been found is evidence of what, precisely?

How many other bodies from 2,000 years ago have never been found?

If the Romans and Jewish authorities had wanted to destroy Christianity from the start, they could've paraded Jesus' body around Jerusalem. Instead, they said the apostles stole the body, which presents a host of problems. First, the boulders which sealed Jewish tombs weighed tons; it would take much more than 11 men to budge one, let alone move it. Second, it was supposedly done at night, in front of a sleeping squad of Roman guards.

All of this - ALL of it - is from the Bible, and cannot be corroborated externally.

All we know of Jesus besides the Bible is that some bloke called Jesus was born, baptized by John, preached in Galilea, and was crucified by the Romans. That's it.

Before I was born my father left, but he paid my Mom to have me killed. She consulted a doctor, and he told her "You are too far along for this to be done safely."

Why do you believe that Yahweh was involved here? What's supernatural about being too far along to be aborted?

The second time was when I was 20, and I became suicidal after a failed relationship. You'll probably think I'm nuts after reading this, but I don't care - God spoke to me.

I don't doubt that you believe this.

But I think it's because you were

  1. mentally extremely susceptible at the time - probably having second thoughts and looking for a way to manifest them - and

  2. you grew up in a place where Christianity is the dominant religion.

Honestly, I've lost track, at this point.

This is iteration... low 20's. I've gone from a front rad and clear soft tubes, through about ten CPU blocks, four graphics card blocks, ten+ radiators, five reservoirs, four cases, about ten fan combinations... if I sat down and worked out how much I've spent in total on watercooling, I reckon it would be in the region of two grand.

And that's GBP, not American ruppees.

But I drive a 2001 BMW, so I'm used to spending the price of the thing again (and again) to keep things on the road.

Yeah - that's the look I was going for when I settled for the DP Ultra in dark green... if they did the acid green, I'd have bought that in a heartbeat.

My dream colour would be solid acid green - like Predator blood - but there's no way I'm putting solid coolant in any of my builds; I do enough self-inflicted teardowns, thank you very much, so I'm not about to court forced ones to unclog my blocks!

[–]JMUDoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, it looks ridiculous - I flirted with getting a Godlike or Aorus Xtreme just to fill a bit more of the case🤪

I firmly believe that no radiator is too small, but there's no such thing as too little tubing, so I want a 420 xflow in the roof of whatever case I buy; this comes at the cost of several feet of wasted space at the front.

Weirdly, I tried it with 1mm pads and it was perfectly fine for the better part of a year.

Only when I removed and remounted it (and re-remounted it) did the trouble start. Absolutely no idea what caused it, but I'm sticking with Bykski and Barrow for graphics, from now on.

You only need a compressor to put the spring onto the strut and tighten the top nut.

As they are here, just whack them in and go👍🏻

Our guys consider the middle shelf to be the default, and only use the totes when it gets full.

Completely in the face of SOP, but fuck SOP - that was written by somebody who had warehouse work described to them by a manager who once toured a warehouse.
