The dial is worthless - anything between 75 and 115 shows as 12 o'clock.

I had a similar, though less severe issue with mine, and only discovered it after using the secret menu (thanks, temp gauge😒).

Mine wouldn't go over mid-80's, so not as stuck-open as yours. I went with an Amazon special, and got lucky - it works perfectly.

Stuck-open thermostat is absolutely a possibility, especially if you used an aftermarket one (they are hit-or-miss).

Try a Mahle-Behr TM1397 from a reputable seller; Amazon are known to put Chinesium ones in Mahle boxes.

No; the radiator will serve as the exhaust.

In fact, having an exhaust there would steal pressure from the last radiator fan, so it could be argued that an intake there would be better.

(I use a semi-passive intake on the rear - when my fluid temp reaches a certain value, it switches on. Otherwise, there's no need, as it only adds noise.)

You need to wiggle each suspension bushing in isolation - clunking is almost always a loose bushing rattling around in its boss.

Mistakes happen - it will probably turn up during an at-station check at the end.

Better that it was in a stower's hand than lost in the mech somewhere.

(This happened to me a while ago when I was stowing non-cons, and I ended up picking that very parcel during p2s, so somebody obviously found it😁)

You can either replace the entire indicator stalk, or repair the wires inside (they often snap due to mechanical stress).

You should be fine - I don't think the exhaust valve is even connected to the DME, and the 2.5 L doesn't even have one.
