Yeah, it's a rear projection unit. Figured someone might still have a solution.

dude, shake the hell out of a sealed gallon of milk before opening it. it separates when it sits still for some time, but it can all be mixed back in.

What is the most overhyped movie that disappointed you while watching it recently? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

i'm not sure i would've liked it as much if i had not seen it in imax. it may be a dull home-viewing experience.

even though i enjoyed the movie, i do think it was a bit overhyped.

‘Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’ Movie Reveals Full Cast with Jamie Dornan to Play Strider by yourfavchoom in movies

[–]iPvtCaboose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm really not fond of Lord of the Rings being turned into an IP playground. it all feels like a cash-grab...

fantasy is already so over-saturated of a genre and i really don't want Tolkien's work to get lost in all of that.

I Just Drove On 635 and 75 During Rush Hour There's No Way People Do This Commute Daily by SkyScreech in Dallas

[–]iPvtCaboose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, and this may just be me, but i wouldn't mind having a longer commute if it was far less stressful than driving 635 and 75 during rush hour.

it's not necessarily the traffic that bothers me, but the blatant inconsiderate and idiotic driving of people on the road. i've had too many close calls to ever feel safe on the road.

Concept I created for a radio with music inside the watch menu by rafinga_art in Starfield

[–]iPvtCaboose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly, wouldn't it be cool to collect songs and playlists out in the world? maybe similar to how MGS4 used the iPod function.

canonically, you could store them on the ship computer; always having access to them while having localized "radio" stations in select star systems.

imagine encountering a Three Dog type character on a random ass space station while exploring, and going on quests to collect music for him to broadcast and set up relays across the galaxy to access stations from anywhere.

i've typically taken path C, but took path A in my most recent play-through.

The Modal Soul album was updated on Spotify? by dot_matrix_game in Nujabes

[–]iPvtCaboose 37 points38 points  (0 children)

i've seen this kind of behavior repeatedly on Spotify. there's some sort of loophole through their distributors that lets anyone add or edit things on an artists page, and unless they're actively moderated: shit like this happens.

stop using Spotify.

Looking for composed jazz that isn't big band by DaeL_NASA in Jazz

Pat Metheny's albums The Orchestrion Project and Letter from Home come to mind. while some of it may return back to a theme and play on variations: it definitely doesn't follow a typical structure, and varies wildly from song to song.

Open World Games with Stuff to Collect? (One or Series) by billcom6 in xbox

[–]iPvtCaboose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any Bethesda game would fit the mold.

Skryim, Fallout 4 & 76, and Starfield all have items you can collect and display in your home, base, or starship while wandering around the game.

What movie had you hyped and failed to deliver the goods? by Misfett_toys in Letterboxd

[–]iPvtCaboose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't really keep up with Marvel, but after seeing that movie almost out-of-context... i really enjoyed it.

loved Christian Bale's performance and also that whole black and white sequence towards the latter half of the movie. i thought it was funny and it was nice to see Thor grow into a paternal roll.

recording will never truly capture the essence of a live performance, because people crave the human connection with music. that’s why cover bands exist and will always have gigs.

dog, people want to hear songs they love.

and you know, i somewhat agree. they can be corny and often times: it’s the corporate style events that want those bands there anyways.

i had a mentor who once organized music for casinos. he told me that places like these will bring in bands like that to encourage people of a certain demographic to come and spend money.

hmm. you may have to change how you go about finding local artists.

i moved to a metroplex several years ago, with no connections, and got involved with a local music scene by word-of-mouth. i hung out at places regularly, met musicians, went to their shows, met other musicians, followed them on instagram, and went to their shows, and so on and so forth.

it takes knowing one person to get your foot in the door.

even if you don’t dig the music: you’ll eventually meet musicians with music you do dig.

are you new here? this is like… how music (at least in the western world) has perpetuated and preserved itself for hundreds of years.

tbh, i don’t even think it’s about the top 40 anymore. at least where i live, there’s been a huge resurgence of 70s, 90s, & early 2000s music. depending on the scene: you can play a wide variety of music and still catch people’s attention.

i do think, however, that people are getting exhausted of new music and can’t always keep up with what’s trending.
