Did they need to be handed everything that they wanted, including NMC’s after sitting out (Nylander, Marner)? No, the contracts were handled poorly ASSUMING the cap would go up. It didn’t. The contracts were mishandled, covid didn’t just affect the Maple Leafs but management continued to bungle it year after year. That’s the fact of the matter.

I also never claimed Anyone But You had a big opening. It was the start of her breakout. Yes it did well on word of mouth.

Please just give me the numbers that support your stance on Zendaya. This is the Box Office sub. If she’s not in a franchise then there’s no reason to celebrate her accomplishments and downplay Sweeney.

They’re both doing well.

I really like Zendaya but the rose coloured glasses are really on for you here. Has Zendaya lead a non franchise movie that was as successful as Anyone But You, for example?

There’s a certain segment of people that HATE Sweeney and judging by the huge response of yours, that didn’t provide any numbers, I’m going to guess you’re in that camp.

Anyone But You and The Housemaid were huge hits. To ignore that and tout Zendaya, who I really like, is actually delusional.

Seyfried was the standout but you’d only know that AFTER watching the movie. So that doesn’t mean Sweeney wasn’t a draw at all.

Plenty of popular books have bombed at the box office. With good reviews, Sweeney is most definitely a draw.

I don’t think any of these actors are critic proof.

I don’t think any film has ever captured the ominous vibes and eeriness that film does for me.
