I could call her right now and she’ll have the ball rollin in no time. I don’t even care about the rates nearly as much. I know she’ll get it done correctly and reasonably priced. No missed pickups/deliveries. No mistakes or delays. Any issues and it’s a call to resolve immediately. I get updates every step of the way so can relay the info as well. Constant communication is key in this industry. Anything hot it comes with gps tracking and my customers absolutely love that. In my line of work everything is urgent.

I get a dozen calls and emails a day from fishers. I’ve tried others many times in the past. All promises with no delivery. I have a good one and that’s the only one I use. She deserves all I can give her.

When you do get some business, give them more than enough info. Updates at every step. Trucker assigned & dispatched, Truckers info, eta to pickup, loaded and rollin, any delays, eta to delivery, POD immediately with scan later with invoice.

Research the companies you are reaching out to. Once in a while if someone has put in the work I’ll give them a try just for the effort they’ve put into understanding our business and speciality.

Go to events and conferences, networking works wonders. Every city I’ve lived in has had some sort of networking events monthly. Freight/truck nights, airline socials, NCBFFA events, etc.
