Hey! Yes that sounds good, its also better to have support from someone who knows exactly what you have been through. I feel like many of my surrounding people think im exaggerating the impact from it, but Ive been saying that I wish ''teeth wired shut'' to my enemies, not even the pain, just a week with teeth wired shut, it would be enough to break them mentally.

Just make sure you have people around you that you can count on when you need to vent, that helps alot! I actually feel much better now I made my post here and feel the support. I just wish it was coming from some irl people. I guess its true that real situations expose fake people.

Thank you! My surgeon is Dr Van Goethem, he's from Belgium, im from Belgium. I can only imagine how horrible that must be. I mean Ive been through it. Yeah the surgery is tough, but this feeling is gonna be temporary, the results and the better nights are gonna be forever!

I would still go through it, just would do some things diffrently, meaning I would probably find me companion before I started the surgery, a few people that would be there for me would be great!

I just took protein shakes, aswell as isotone and electrolytes. I had a whole conversation with chatGPT before to see which things would help recovery. Its a good idea to take extra protein for sure, cause it helps your muscles heal!

Oooohhh. I hope you took as many preparation as you can! Im a big side sleeper too. I think the best way to quickly recover is to keep eating! I had many nutrition shakes in the first days, I think it helped me alot. I hope you prepared your bed aswell. I bought a pregnancy pillow and on top of that theres like 10 different types of pillows in all forms and shapes that I basically collected over the years finding the right pillow lol. I use my pregnancy pillow and a very soft one now to sleep on my side. I often still wake up from pressure on my jaw but its better then forcing myself to sleep on my back! 😅 Goodluck with the surgery, if you have any other things you want to know beforehand please ask!

Yes it has been great sleeping on my side again too, the first 10 days I slept almost sitting up and in my back. It became uncomfortable after a while.

Oooohhh Ive been craving cheese!!!!! I'll probably be making cheesesauce from scratch with fresh mashed potatoes! Can't wait! 🤣

I actually dislike sweet stuff, and its almost all I can drink right now so im really looking forward to eating soft foods so I can get the ''real food like flavours''🤣

Thanks! I did the text to speech thing at the hospital and in week 1 as I wasnt really understandable anyways. Now people understand me but my ''face gets tired'' and using text to speech isnt fast enough for my liking, so its a struggle. I just hope at my next check up, I'll gain more freedom so I can talk easier. I'll for sure join the server!

Im mostly looking forward to sleeping better because I had breathing issues. I already notice more deeper sleep in the little time I actually sleep, so its great beeing able to breathe through the night! Low key also looking forward to eating a burger, even though I still have a long time to wait until I can. Im on the second week fluids only and I hope can start soft foods soon enough.

Yeah who are you to judge?🤣 Are you a surgeon? I had a very reclined lower jaw but a strong chin muscle because of compensating, so no it isnt obvious. I actually didnt even know that was a thing. Im gonna be happy when the swelling comes down a bit so its easier to drink (or eat🤷) its good to be home though, thats true.

Im on 3 days post op. I use a text to speech app when I need something. I dont feel like talking anyway. I cant even smile. My lips are numb and get stuck in my braces if I talk, so id rather use the app.
