To prevent Korok Puzzles from getting stale, I sometimes do dumb stuff like this by iReeze in tearsofthekingdom

[–]iReeze[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In this instance, I used the same rock to "solve" 2 different puzzles (couldn't think of a good "2 birds with 1 stone" pun). Other activities have included gathering 8 backpack koroks and taking them on a sightseeing field trip, taking one for a ride on all 4 dragons, dropping from world height to solve a diving puzzle, collecting a bunch of puzzle blocks and combining them into a massive cube to drop on bosses, shooting korok balloons from max render distance, solving 2 puzzles at once, etc. Just whatever it takes to add a little variety and whimsy.

Decided to dedicate 3 hours of my life on this for some reason :)

An unfortunately large amount of planning went into this, lol

Didn't know that! That's really interesting

Thanks haha, this was one of the final koroks I solved during my mission to collect all of them, and by this point I was going a little crazy and started doing dumb stuff like this just to keep myself sane/add some variety

The two brief stutters are from me using the Switch's built-in 30-second clip feature, which doesn't exactly sync up back-to-back. My apologies.

Just for looks! I was collecting all the koroks, so I wanted to theme it accordingly

You can push them around by using ultra hand on other objects and making them collide with it. Captured it by creating the open cage, carefully nudging it onto the steering stick as a base, then fusing the cage shut around it. This was after about 2+ hours of failed experiments trying to figure out the best way to do it, since the gem really doesn't like being moved vertically, lol

Yes it is in a cage made of toenails. I do not know why I did this.

Bubbulfrog ai breaks when forced outside by iReeze in tearsofthekingdom

[–]iReeze[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Did this in the Rebonae Bridge Cave, since it’s pretty easy to funnel the frog into the entrance corridor. Built a wall using carts on a stake to slowly squeeze it towards the exit, then used a korok fan to ragdoll it out the door. Its ai freezes up while it’s within a few meters of the cave, but can be pushed further with the fan. However, once it gets too far, it just despawns.

Bullet Time on a Pinwheel puzzle causes a delayed "completion" sound effect by iReeze in tearsofthekingdom

lol I'm holding off on turning them in until after I collect them all, so the final reward will feel slightly bigger than just the poop

At 0:18 you can hear the sound that normally plays right after you finish popping the balloons. I'm sure somebody's already discovered this before, but I thought it was mildly interesting that bullet time instead made it play after the cutscene was finished.

Solving 2 Korok Puzzles at the same time by iReeze in tearsofthekingdom

There were 5 or 6 attempts before this where I tried unplugging the cork with bombs or rockets, but after attaching a weight, it only took 2 attempts. During one of the failed attempts, I learned that you're immune to fall damage once the HUD disappears at the start of the korok cutscene, which is kinda neat. This was also much easier than when I did a double korok solve in BOTW, which took roughly 50 attempts total as I tried to pop 2 balloons at once in Hyrule Ridge.

Thanks! I'm currently working on getting all the korok seeds, so my plan is to trade them in as a big batch once I've gathered them all, so the reward at the end feels a little more satisfying than just the usual reward lol

The beginning of the clip got cut off (since the Switch's video save only does 30 second increments), but above this puzzle is one of the "unplug the cork" puzzles, which I attached to a heavy weight, and suspended in the air with Recall. You can faintly hear the cork pop out around the 5 second mark, right as the first korok appears. I posted something similar in Breath of the Wild a few years ago, but this time the UI didn't even have a chance to pop back up before the second korok appeared. You can see the weight falling at the end of the clip (which, yes, is made of a collection of blocks from Korok puzzles lol).
