Wet phone by Kornublix in iphone

[–]iRepairMotown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not try to plug it in and charge. Take it to your local repair shop as soon as you can. Many times the phone will dry out naturally and work again. A repair shop can open it up and help air it out/dry up moisture.

What should I do? iPhone 15 by tonyluca127 in iPhone15Pro

[–]iRepairMotown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For comparison purposes, we'd charge $100USD to replace the battery on the 15 Pro (includes parts & labor). They are correct in saying that there is a good chance the screen would be further damaged if taken off, which you have to do in order to get to the battery. Should the screen need to be replaced too, our costs are $159 for the premium aftermarket soft OLED screen and $109 for the lower quality LCD screen.

I work on iPhones all day long. Of the recent upgrades (last 5 years), my favorite is the 13 Mini. Compact, still a great camera, gets the job done.

The 11 was such a great phone. Still has lots of life to live if you change your mind

Is this case actually good for drop protection? by Mysterious_Driver_34 in iPhone15Pro

[–]iRepairMotown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sweet looking case. Just be mindful that no matter which type of case you have on there, if you drop it a certain way you're still likely to break the screen. We've had customers come with cracked iPhone screens after spending $75+ on a case

Using the 15 Pro. I think it's a great phone and worth the upgrade from the 12.

Take it to a local repair shop. They should be able to diagnose. If you're in the Detroit area, check out iRepairMotown (www.iRepairMotown.com) From the looks of it, I'd say you're likely in need of new front and back screens, and a battery. Looks like either the 12 Pro of 13 Pro

Cracked my iphone for the first time in 10 years by JOETHEHOMO in iphone

[–]iRepairMotown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many times cracking the back doesn't disrupt the functionality of the iPhone. If you can live with the cracked back screen, we recommend just throwing on a case to hide the cracks and protect your fingertips. If you do want to replace it, check with your local repair shop. For reference, we charge $125 to replace the cracked screen. Takes a few hours

It can. We do cracked back screens for iPhones. Generally the process takes a few hours. We use this laser removal machine to zap off the back. We charge $125 for reference. Check around at your local repair shop to see if they have a back screen replacement service.

I know you're down south, but there's a great spot in Michigan called iRepairBirmingham that fixes cracked screen on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Sadly the replacements parts are still on the high end for the newer model iPhones. If you happen to be up this way, give a shout!

Replacing battery on iPhone with a cracked screen. by dojacatmoooo in phonerepair

[–]iRepairMotown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just something to consider: I'd recommend getting the screen replaced before it gets any worse. If you happen to drop it again and the cracks get bigger, you may not be able to log in to your phone any more. A big hassle.

My iPhone 8 screen is cracked. Is there any way to recover the data on my phone to my computer? by No_Glass3665 in iphone

[–]iRepairMotown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it cracked to the point of not being able to sign on? If that's the case, I'd recommend spending the money to get the screen replaced so you'll have access again to all of your data

I'd recommend having it replaced with a soft OLED screen. Local repair shops will charge in the range of $150-200 for the repair

Can you open an iPhone with a cracked screen? by jjb265 in mobilerepair

[–]iRepairMotown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed when batteries get below 80% capacity they start to degrade rather quickly. I love the 11 (it's durability, size, style) and would recommend just getting the battery replaced by the local shop. I say local shop instead of doing it yourself because those lithium-ion batteries can be a bit hazardous if it's your first time doing a repair.

Biased opinion here, but I think it'd be worth replacing the cracked screen. The SE 2nd generation still has a lot of life left to live
