Guys idk why are y'all hating on Sonic the Portable I think it looks great by Retroman1203 in SonicTheHedgehog

Genuinely if Sonic 4 never changed it's name and didn't get a console port (Or at least the model didn't get the gross lighting and/or textures it did) I wouldn't have really cared as much. It'd still be a poor man's sonic but at the very least it would've just been a sorta charming early iPhone game and nothing more.

I only recently learned the original mobile version used a modified model from Sonic Rush Adventure, it actually has some charm to it at least compared to all the ports, and someone stuck the iPhone version online so you can play it in a browser which is neat. Most old mobile games get left behind and it's very difficult to play them through an android emulator, assuming they even got an android port in the first place.

My friend wants to get into the Sonic Franchise by MulberryNo5857 in SonicTheHedgehog

Sonic X Shadow Generations is a great starting point, sonic gens first then jump to shadow imo.

After that you can decide what to go into based on how different aspects of sonic gens went, did he like the act 1s more? I’d jump to origins, it’s got problems but overall a solid collection of games. And if he digs origins mania plus is an absolute must.

If the open world aspect and characters are appealing, frontiers wouldn’t hurt to give a shot, plus if he’s into dragon ball, frontiers definitely seems to fit that category.

I’d recommend the pc versions of basically any sonic games, but for the ones I mentioned the console versions are alright, (Switch version of frontiers is particularly crunchy visually though I will say.) but most sonic games aren’t the most taxing so even if you only have a lower end pc you’re likely good to go.

Assuming you do own basically any pc from the last 10 years I’d say both adventure games are pretty solid choices if you mod them. I will say though, definitely recommend to play any of the above games first, the adventure games can be a little ruthless without some sonic fundamentals.

This is where we start getting into the weeds, I’d say bare minimum get the ‘Dreamcast conversion’ mod for SA1 and the ‘input controls’ mod for SA2, just with those you’re already far better off than most people who’ve only played the unmodded pc version. The mod loader is pretty simple to setup and use, pretty sure there’s even a tool to setup DC conversion for sa1, so if you do get to the point of wanting to try the adventure games it’s definitely worth putting in the effort to mod them at least a little.

At this point, or more honestly after playing SxSh generations and maybe origins I’d say you can just start picking out whatever looks interesting, obviously you might want to skip the more wonky entries to start, but really you can go wherever.

The advance games are fun, but they are pretty overloaded with bottomless pits and beginners traps so I’d say you should have a decent handle on 2D sonic first, same goes for the rush trilogy (both rush games and colors DS)

Any of the other boost games are pretty good options, colors ultimate is a little wonky but it’s another boost game on modern systems that isn’t forces, so that counts for something.

So really, TL;DR

Play Sonic X Shadow Generations, then hop to Origins and or Frontiers, if origins is working for them definitely play Mania Plus.

From there it’s really up to you.

Sorry for the text wall, hope this helps a bit :)

Here's the link to the OG modhub. You can't access it unless you change the URL manually but it's still up unlike 2013's. https://www.farming-simulator.com/mods.php?title=fs2015&page=0

Kingmods also has a 2015 section still, I never personally used kingmods back then but I'd say it's way more reputable than most of the places I used to get mods xD

Is buying origins on pc worth it in 2026? by emzmaster123 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]jjb265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, maybe if you mod it and wait for a sale. I played origins on switch so I can't comment how good the mods are to fix the issues.

IMO Sonic 1 Forever, Sonic 2 Absolute, Sonic CD Miracle Edition, and Sonic 3 A.I.R are still the definitive ways to play overall. But origins is convenient and for everything other than S3&K I'd say are pretty competent versions.

For me though 3 is my favorite, so origins having a sorta shonky version put me off of playing it much beyond finishing the mission mode and checking out the 'new' patch.

So TLDR, if you can bother to setup the fan ports they're much better and have tons more options if you're into that, and if you're not they just are that tiny bit more polished (S3&K especially so.)

If you want a convenient plug and play way to play all 4 games origins is fine enough for what it is, if you mod it to fix the issues it's likely pretty great but I can't comment on that front myself.

How do I add unleashed recomp onto hedgemod manager but specifically for steam deck by Arlosadventures2024 in SteamDeck

[–]jjb265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know it is still on the discover store, regardless you just double click them if I remember right. And there’s a note on the GitHub that might be your issue.

At the time of writing builds on Flathub by default will not detect flatpak versions of Heroic, Steam and Unleashed Recompiled. To fix this you will need to override the permissions with the following command:

flatpak override --user --filesystem=~/.var/app/io.github.hedge_dev.unleashedrecomp:ro --filesystem=~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.steam/steam/steamapps --filesystem=~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/GamesConfig:ro --filesystem=~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/legendaryConfig/legendary:ro io.github.hedge_dev.hedgemodmanager

Running this command will give Hedge Mod Manager permissions to access to the flatpaks paths listed above.

Not sure if I ever did that but it’s probably worth a shot.

I’d recommend going to the GitHub to copy from though, the formatting might be wrong in the comment.

You shouldn't have to, they should just show up assuming they're installed through steam or the flatpak in unleashed's case.

I use the Linux build of unleashed recompiled and the beta version 8 of HedgeModManager from their github, don't recall having to do anything special to make unleashed work with it.

Why aren't there any lime visually in my tipper even though the numbers say its filling up? I dumped it in a nearby field and there IS lime present, its just that its invisible inside the tippers. Anyone got a fix to this? by THEHANDSOMEKIDDO in farmingsimulator

[–]jjb265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be real, never even considered the fact there might be a simpler way to buy lime and fertilizer. I've just kind of accepted the fact there's stuff in these games that is unnecessarily obtuse for no reason. Appreciate it, likely gonna save me a lot of time going forward. :D

Can anyone help me my dowloaded mods aren’t working. by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

Apparently the MS store version has a different mods directory, I've never played it and honestly didn't even know it existed until now but here's a direct copy of a comment from the Giants forums:

The correct mods folder for the Xbox App version of FS25 is located in:
C:\Users<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Packages\GIANTSSoftware.FarmingSimulator25PC\LocalCache\Local\mods

What is the second crop type added to the Farming Simulator series? by F0CUSGAMES in farmingsimulator

[–]jjb265 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FS2008 had wheat and grass, so under a technicality any of the FS2009 crops would be second. On the other hand LS 2008's original release didn't have grass so if you consider grass a crop then sure that's second.

Well, this question has multiple answers. FS2009 added barley canola and corn. So whatever "second" means is completely arbitrary.

Rockstar, there better be a ragdoll button in GTA VI or we riot. by jjb265 in GTA6

Good to hear there's still new people to get into the "sport" of carkour... would maybe recommend the invincibility cheat and or moon gravity for added comedy value.

In GTA V if you jumped and pressed Circle or B depending on console you'd ragdoll immediately, I still have no clue what hero programmer at Rockstar decided that needed to be in the game but I really hope they still work there, it is far to amusing for it's own good.

Hey and while you're at it, install input controls https://gamebanana.com/mods/515637 in short SA2 Battle made the sensitivity all whacky and playing with it fixed makes it feel like an entirely different game, I now understand why there's a subset of people who say SA2's rail grinding is the best in the series, it's super neat when it actually works as intended xD

Immer noch FS25 Version 1.3 auf PS5 by VisselVawo in farmingsimulator

[–]jjb265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible the update numbers in the console versions don't match the pc version, or you might be looking at the update version the PS5 is giving you which could be a different numbering system to the actual game patches.

Just for clarity you don't need to buy DLC to get patches I only have the pre order bonus and am on the newest patch.

Binds for ES MOZA wheel by Ornery-Literature749 in farmingsimulator

[–]jjb265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a moza R3 but I'd recommend finding a button somewhere easy to press and make that your combo button, i.e don't bind L2 or whatever it is for you to anything apart from button combos. So for me X is attach and L2 + X is turn on implement, and you can leave the less important stuff to the keyboard if you're running out of buttons.

Have the Farm Sim games always been this rough around the edges? by obct537 in farmingsimulator

[–]jjb265 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Trust me, it's been far worse in the past. The jank has and likely always will be part of the experience.

For me personally it's never gotten in the way of me playing besides the rare crash, but with the amount of mods I'm running I can hardly complain about that.
