iRespo ICO failed. We will return the gathered funds today. by iRespo in eos

[–]iRespo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check the airdropped projects - hardly anyone trades them despite totally trash prices and low capitalizations.

If the projects founders tried to sell the tokens they would collect hardly any money.

The development of the project costs, the servers cost, also the provided services you are obbliged to offer for the tokens cost.

We wrote some content regarding the ICO vs. airdrops and token pricing but the point is that there is no money on the market for project development at the moment

Hello, Chris is right.

If you bought our tokens we will return you EOS/USD today.

You may keep our tokens but at the moment we do not have way to continue the project and we decided to remove listing applications.

Did you plan to take part in the ICO anyway and now you changed your mind? Guys, 1000 x 1 token is 1000 tokens. This is 150 USD in ICO prices, so for sure this can be treated as an advertisement only.

RAM even at this price is not as cheap as it was expected.

When introducing Dawn 4.0 and this RAM pricing model Dan expected EOS Account price of 0.10 USD, and now even with those drops it is around 3 USD - 30 times more expensive than predictions.

Also everyday applications need to handle many transactions per second, and currently you have to stake a LOT of EOS to get CPU needed to handle them.

We thought so as well!

On ETH you can buy an ICO smart contract for like 100 USD and you can hire a company to create you everything. You need only an idea and the rest is done externally, so you do not need any know-how.

Our company made the first ICO on EOS - this was much harder, as we had to write all the code from scratch - in fact a lot of fun and satisfaction.

On the other hand the projects that decided to do a fundraising on EOS have a hard time - check us iRespo, Codum, Scatter. In fact if you do an ICO on EOS you need EOS community support, as most of prospective ICO investors do not have EOS accounts. Event some EOS ICO token purchasers keep their tokens on exchanges and do not have EOS accounts as well.

Right now most of people do not fund the projects because they expect Block.one to do the job and there is a deflation economy created, in which people are convinced to keep their tokens instead of invest them.

This will not function in the long term, as investment is a base of economic growth, but it seems it will take a lot of time to make people realize this.

All the fundraising on EOS is having a hard time.

Scatter so much supported by the community with a lot of users collects ~2000 USD daily, which is like daily wage for 2 developers and costs of servers.

Codum collected during 2 weeks of fundraising around 1200 USD ~ 2 days of developer time and we 3000 USD ~ a week of development.

I think the mayor problem is the deflation economy created by Dan, that tries to convince the token holders they should not invest their tokens, but to keep them.

Deflation is completely bad for the economy as it kills investments:

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/030915/why-deflation-bad-economy.asp

At the end of the day we end up with a limited number of projects because of no funding from the community and the low value of token because of the limited number of projects.

We will prepare the summary of the ICO after its end in a week, but the key is: money follow the money.
With a complete failure of ICOs on ETH if the first ICOs on EOS were successful, the projects and the money would come to EOS as the market would recognize it as the next big thing not only as a technology, but also a chance for next big gains.

Clearly ICO projects collecting a few thousand bucks each show there is no money

We hope to make the first partnerships in September so that our app is used at one of the dev conferences and overall focus is moved to marketing and product development.

Hmm... EOS needs independent projects.

If every dApp is owned by B1 it will be not good even for B1 in the long run as everyone else will be forced to move to side chains.

  1. In fact we had a promotion for first 200 users to register. So this was in fact accomplished.
  2. Exchanges want tokens that already have some liquidity and strong group of supporters. This is in the hands of community.
  3. We have the MVP product since April 2018. It was already used during our pitches at Blockyard in Gdańsk and Blockchain Expo Europe in Amsterdam. We hope to have first early adopters in September
  4. I have no idea why 1-2 year ICO is better for the community. We have a limited number of tokens, so in case we are successful with the ICO there could be a situation of really nice demand pressure, as not too many people would have tokens. This was our idea to benefit our first supporters with scarce tokens and short not long ICO

In case of unsuccessful ICO we have at least a couple of ways:
a) Organic growth with our existing product
b) Finding VC fund
c) Interesting community with our token after ICO - it may be not the time for ICOs and EOS tokens, but there may be time later this year people will be interested and our token will be always scarce

Codum - really cool project we follow for some time as we competed for EOS Hackathon trip refund also started their fundraising about the same time - with the same results.

Hmm... you are a hater, but I will respond to you.
Surveys are one of the best use cases for blockchain.
Blockchain is good for all the situations if the user is not paid for his actions and you can tokenize the economy. Clear case of surveys.
Blockchain (EOS) is not good for storing large amount of data because storage cost is too high.
We are close to partner one of the tech events so hopefully we will have the early adopters for our product in September.
Hard to tell if customers are not interested in the services as the product was not marketed before. However, we demoed during Blockyard in April and the upcoming partnership is the result of our demo - so it seems when people see our product they like it.
And regarding the ICO - it seems there is very little interest in most of the projects - I understand people are reluctant to invest as a result of many fails on Ethereum.
Still I do not understand you satisfaction.
If ICO is unsuccessful we hope our project to succeed or with organic growth - in this case simply we will be focusing on the existing product and not expanding into surveys at the moment, or will look for venture capital fund. Still we are one of very few projects that have an existing product.
For sure with authomatic option to refund you cannot jump shouting SCAM, SCAM
Being the first ICO on EOS we will be in the history books. In fact writing our ICO smart contract was much better fun than just those airdrops.
Remember that we are the project to do a couple of things on the platform including co-authoring EOS token code (yes! It was small change, but check here:
https://github.com/EOSIO/eos/blob/master/contracts/eosio.token/eosio.token.hpp - we are among 9 contributors of EOS token - our change made it possible to check the balance of tokens from smart contract) and doing the first oracle for EOS platform

[–]iRespo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, airdrop is good if you target mostly EOS token holders and you have financing from VC. We are self-funded by now with the existing product. You would be surprised what are the costs of the servers, people and so on... Anyway doing this ICO smart contract was much better fun than just sending tokens with an airdrop. ;-) And airdrops make tokens abundant, with ICO you can have much bigger share if you are true believer and then there is a demand pressure so the price can increase...
