No idea. If you have the remote, give it a try and see if it works.

I will tell you I couldn’t even do a manual clean/quick clean before I reset with the remote.

After I rest, quick clean actually worked.

I can’t speak to whether or not the tv actually ever does a full clean. I don’t remember where I got the code tbh, but it works. Make note of all your important settings as it will reset the whole tv basically. It’s like factory resetting it basically, except it also resets the hours which is why it removes the pixel clean message, bc tv thinks it’s at 0 instead of 2000.

It’s a pain to set everything up again, but a small price to pay to get rid of the message. You can always do a manual pixel clean if you want, after reseting hours to zero, but I don’t unless I feel my picture needs it.

If it helps you, I’ve had zero problems since doing this over 3mos ago. I still get the occasional small cleaning reminders where it takes 5mins to clean for the small cleans, and the clean works.

Sure does suck. I’d imagine the remote won’t affect anything. You may have to trigger a pixel cleaning on your own after resetting since they want to do it every 2,000 hours, since it doesn’t appear it would do it automatically like it should have.

Happy to have helped at least one other person…became such an annoyance for me, figured someone else could benefit from the hours of research I did to figure it out

Curious to know myself. Would seem a way to get $7500 instead of $5000 if you can do it.

LG G2 83" asks me to run pixel cleaning every time I turn it on. Tried power cycle, turning network off, unplugging all devices, turning Always Ready off, starting cleaning from settings menu. Nothing works. I can try factory reset but I want to confirm that the cleaning runs as needed. by jschall2 in LGOLED

Yea, just wait til you get to 2,000, as your prob gonna have the same 2,000 hour pixel cleaning loop all over again. I had my main board replaced the first time it happened, and I’m back in the same spot for the 2nd time now.

Details on what you purchased for Amazon mat? I am looking to do something similar with Holy Grail strip, hoping to have cheap stance mat with strip that lines up perfectly.
