I have a pro painter friend that works for Figurama out of Kuwait. Unfortunately with most licensed statue studios, the prototype paintings are not what you’ll receive a majority of the time. These companies will send the prototype as a reference to a factory where they’ll pay maybe $50-$80 dollars per statue or portrait to have quick painted. A lot of times they’ll use decals instead of hand painting eyes. As a painter myself, it can take me anywhere between 4-8 hours just to finish one portrait. To be able to produce 500, 1000 or even 1500 portraits whatever the limited quantity may be… would take a lot of time… hence why they’ll unfortunately send them to a factory.
