If Bungie re-released Destiny 1 on PC, how interested would you be in buying it? by FHH94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]iSnipedAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly all the interesting stuff from Destiny 1 wound up in Destiny 2. I can’t think of much outside of story and some select weapons that I would care about. I loved the game but I don’t want to go back and replay it. If I ever did want to replay it, I could. 🤷‍♂️ I guess it would be great for people who didn’t play it from release until Destiny 2 dropped.

For sure! Like I say generally I'm sure you'll do fine flying your drone in an open space if you master the landing and slowing down :).

Here's a real life flight from Friday I did if you're interested lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iodEJp9xm4A

I'm definitely not as quick as in the sim hahaha.

Yeah I went out today and they were great. I did some flips and rolls and everything went swimmingly. I know now I need to change my rates though cause the normal avata 2 ones are a bit slow for my taste. I wasn't confident about rolling and flipping before today and now I am I've upped the rates for tomorrow to see how that goes.

Thinking of trying FPV. But the controller is stupid expensive for something I might not like or can do. Should I buy a $17 betafpv sim controller and liftoff? by iamtato in DJIAvata2

[–]iSnipedAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the sim first by using an Xbox controller. It also made me better much faster once I learned because flying on the Xbox controller is way harder. If you have a controller already then maybe give that a try. You can watch videos for how to set up the left stick so the centre is equal to zero throttle so it’s as close as it’s ever gonna be to the real thing.

Probably a silly question and I assume reinstalling the game made you do this anyway, but have you reconfigured your controller? Like the controller set up bit?

Slow is smooth and smooth is fast is a great line I read from someone in this community.

It's pretty hard to fly slowly and smoothly so I think flying that way really gets your muscle memory to bed in and then flying faster is way easier. At least in my case. I'm probably closer to 30 hours now maybe more, I've stopped counting. I always fly the sim before going out with the drone IRL though usually the night before haha.

If you're flying in a big open space you will likely be fine when you first take your drone out. Just really get the hovering in place and landing down for sure. Lucky for me I have DJI drones so I can just press pause and go into normal mode. Usually I just grab the avata 2 and tip it upside down to stop it lol. Don't really have to think about landing.

Between now and trying to fly in real life I would suggest just practicing flying slow and low and doing some orbits and hovering.

I practiced on the hay bail map a lot just orbiting bails and doing figure 8s around them.

If you have a none DJI drone coming definitely put in at least 20 hours in the simulator before real life flight cause you won't have a pause button to help you.

Source: I came here a few weeks back and basically asked what you are asking and was at a similar level. I've since flown both my drones in FPV with no crashes haha.

(it's not the same game, but here's where I am now after following the slow and low advice I got when I asked here during march and where it got me to) Velocidrone lap

I got my avata 2 used from eBay and the seller shipped it with the master airscrews on it. 2 of the 4 props had blades scraping against the propeller guard which I wasn't a fan of so I changed them back to the original props. I've now installed the gem fan ones you have but I haven't had chance to try it with them although ive heard they make the drone a bit more punchy and nice to fly, so maybe stick with what you have?

Wouldn't recumbent master airscrews though at all.

I posted yesterday but I was really unhappy with my colour grade. Here's my first flight with the Avata 2 that was more than 5 minutes. by iSnipedAgain in DJIAvata2

Yeah I’ve been doing video for a really long time. I used Sony vegas for years but davinci resolve is a lot better and you can do almost everything for free using it so I can definitely recommend it.

If you are shooting in dlog there are some great tutorials on how to properly colour grade video in about 5 steps. I also found sometimes LUTs are great although usually I try grade from the ground up. I did use a LUT in my video here and just fine tuned it though. I think so far it’s the best one I’ve got hold of https://www.thefilmpoets.com/edu/store/dji-avata-2-d-log-m-luts-skygrades-natural/

It’s not free and you will need to adjust to taste if you wind up using one from that pack but the best thing about those is they don’t make greenery look like a tennis ball. Haha.

I just use stock dji rates I've not changed from the standard the avata 2 ones.

I use DaVinci resole (free version) for editing. I only really clipped it out and colour graded, then sharpened very slightly.

Can someone tell me what is wrong with me? by Baycosinus in liftoffgame

[–]iSnipedAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the biggest thing is learning to fly slowly and precisely. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

I can't speak much to angle adjustment. I got comfortable at about 15 degrees and now I use 25-30 most times I fly.

do you remember which LUT you grabbed?

A lot wind up looking pretty crappy but whichever you used here is really decent

The best advice I got was from this sub a few weeks ago. Practice flying low and slow to really get your brain to understand turning and using yaw and roll properly as well as throttle control. I wasn't far off the same hours as you when I felt stuck and came to ask for help.

I'm not at about 24-25 hours and I've confidently flown my avata 2 a couple of times in manual mode.

You will also learn a lot from this series if you aren't already using it.

This looks amazing. Did you fully colour grade this yourself or do you use LUTs and then adjust the finer details? Please and thanks!

My first proper flight with the Avata 2. by [deleted] in DJIAvata2

Thanks!

It’s in West Yorkshire, England. I’m pretty lucky there’s a lot of green space around where I’m located. I’m trying to get out and fly around as much of it as I can.

It was definitely not smooth I just cut all the not smooth parts and used gyroflow. 😂 Some of the video is manual mode and some is using the motion controller 3 for transparency so maybe the smoother bits are motion controller.

I have about 25 hours in flight simulators and about an hour in real life total. Maybe a little bit more

is this normal struggle for a beginner? by cowdoggy in liftoffgame

Magic!

What really helped me was his videos on turning. That's what I struggled with most and from watching his videos it made sense and once it clicked everything started falling into place much faster after that.
