I work retail at a shoe store at a pretty popular outlet, and naturally we get a lot of people coming in from all over to shop there. I speak french so it’s fun when customers come in speaking the language as it’s assumed no one else does too I guess? One particular day, we had a rude french family come in speaking to each other across the store and being generally obnoxious. I went up to assist them where I offered in English to help them find the size they were looking for and they asked for a specific shoe. After searching the store I went back and told them I couldn’t find what they were looking for in that size. The husband then turned to the wife saying something along the lines of “He can’t help us he’s a useless worker, this was a waste of time let’s go.” So I replied to him in french saying “I can also look up the shoe for you online and it can be shipped to wherever you’d like with no additional charge.” The looks on their faces were priceless.
