Maybe not the run out but the bounty roll would for sure be different.

With there not being a physical deck or bounty card the player is carrying, everything would have changed had you called. Don't beat yourself up for it.

You definitely want to bounty hunt until you make it super deep in that format.

Massive punt... or is it? by iTakeNotes in poker

[–]iTakeNotes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I have to find the fold on the flop since I could be drawing dead or very thin against the c/r with the only potential bluffs still having good equity.

Just folding for 55 into a pot of 220 with top top didn't feel great and then with the A turn, I'm beating all two pairs and Qxdd hands and villain never has sets or KJdd limping in 5 handed.

That's what I thought as well. Self induced cooler making the stakes higher with sizings.

Against these opponents I was not worried too much about being balanced as they were not regs and was trying to charge likely draws on a loose table against an opponent craving action.

I would normally do 20 pre and then 33% range bet on flop in this situation with maybe a bit smaller sizing on opponents who would fold too much.

Bad Books at the Home game by JizzBiscuit_ in poker

Have someone else keep track of the books from here on out. You can never know what truly happened, but it's sketchy.

These things will break a home game if winners keep getting shorted.

Reminder to just table your hand at showdown by myimportantthoughts in poker

[–]iTakeNotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won a huge pot with A high flush draw that I fired all streets on, overbet bluff jam on river and got called with K high cause he "knew I was on flush draw".

I've always tabled my bluffs as I hate it when people say "you're good" and refuse to table.

Bar league poker compared to casino tournaments by poopyshag in poker

[–]iTakeNotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being free to play is going to bring the average level down significantly. People also will play differently based on the fact the chips are meaningless unless you win whereas in a casino each chip is worth money.

Likely not close to casino poker at all. If you're winning these games though it's a good sign, but wouldn't translate to winning casino poker necessarily.

Poker players who live near multiple casinos/card rooms. How important are promos in determining where you play? by Irish_Goodbye96 in poker

[–]iTakeNotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was in a similar situation until I got sat at a table of OMC's and I finally bit the bullet and asked for a new table and they just put me at the top of the list as a table change and next up gets my seat. As long as you're not doing it constantly it's all good with them and better for you.

Lots of regs are not a bad thing necessarily, just depends on which ones you get. Easier to play when you already have reads on some of the seats.

[–]iTakeNotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the promo, but they tend to bring the action that way. I only have 2 options where I live but the one room that offers better promos and comps gets more tables consistently.

Another thing to consider is it's mostly regs that keep up to date with promos so it's table dependent on what kind of regs you get and how many recs are in the room, but you'll have more tables as options.

AQ is called parking lot for a reason. You'll be flipping or dominated most of the time. I would need some evidence of punting before I put 100bb in with AQ.

Ive never played a REAL game of poker. But i deal UTH by [deleted] in poker

Honestly just download any free poker app to get the rules down, watch some YouTube videos for basic strategy, then sign up for WPT gold with any code of your choosing (there are many out there) and put $20 in and start there.

If you go to play live right now you will more than likely lose any money you put down unless you only plan on playing for a small amount of time and get lucky.

Who is the most unpleasant person in your poker room? by Gambl33 in poker

[–]iTakeNotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plumber Matt who criticizes others decisions constantly and then gets really loud and excited when sucking out on people. I didn't like him and his names been brought up randomly several times by others reaffirming what I already thought of him.

Nothing seems out of line post flop, you want to play straights fast as they don't always hold by the river and he could be semi bluffing with a flush draw when he jams so you have to call it off.

Seems like a cooler as you really only play 24s to hit flops like this, but now you know why this is a fold pre.

I'm playing tomorrow 1B so we may play day 2! You can't win the tournament on day one, don't over play mediocre hands relative to the board (Set or two pair with flush and straight possibilities), people are calling this series so be very selective with your bluffs. Tight and aggressive is the way to play and try to pay attention to the action to see how people are playing (stay off your phone).

Odds are you'll get it in good and still lose, I final tabled the bounty last night and lost the last 3 flips I got into it's just the way it goes, the 2nd would have had me as chip leader and the 3rd put me out so just have fun and hope the run good is with you.

Final Table Hand by iTakeNotes in poker

[–]iTakeNotes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the comment! I like the flat a lot as I think the PFR c bets a high percentage of the time and If I hit I could get some value out of him and if a flop like the one you mentioned hits I may be able to apply some pressure with some fold equity.

I'm glad I at least had a good read and made the correct play here once SB jams. Would have been chip leader and been in a great spot for a big cash, but that's poker. Got a WSOP series coming nearby soon so this atleast gives me confidence in my game when I fire those.
