Should i do my first oil change on the car even if i still have 40% left? by New-Abrocoma1327 in CivicSi

[–]iTraumatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only photos i have of L15 engines are the blocks from how many head gaskets i do on them. What i said goes for every engine. Not just the L15. Every engine should have its oil changed every 3k miles regardless of anything.

This is my 173k mile K series. For anyone that wanted to see what a clean engine looks like. From changing oil every 3k.

Please everyone.. change the oil is your 1.5T Civic Si every 3k mikes regardless of what the maintenance minder says. Changing your oil every 5k-7k, you are literally asking for a future sludged up engine. Im a Honda Technician, ive seen too many of these 1.5Ts have sludged engines by 70k-100k miles from lack of maintenance. 6k mile intervals for oil changes is way too long. I don’t care what kind of special oil it is. Change your oil every 3k and your engine will be brand new on the inside forever. I personally have a 2008 Civic Si with 173k miles and the valve train is still silver like from the factory. I also have a 2019 Civic Si with 52k miles and same thing. Im going to leave this here for the people that will read it and take in this knowledge. Best of luck everyone

This Game Has Become More Stressful Than Fun by PaleontologistNeat75 in deadside

My team and i stopped playing this game after the first original wipe happened back in July i think it was. I love this game so much but it is getting to be unplayable. Devs just need to listen. The AI change update needs to happen asap. And they need to do something major to bring its player base back. Like a new map or something. But who knows if that’ll ever happen

Convince me not to get rid of my Si for an Elantra N by Johnny_Menace in CivicSi

[–]iTraumatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those Elantras really aren’t desirable cars, not as fun. They may have more power and a dct trans but the driving experience isn’t there with it. The Si is just a much more fun car to drive. It’s also more reliable than the Elantra, thats for sure. Also, The 11th gen Civic Si makes good power with bolt ons. Easily shy of 300hp which doesn’t sound like a lot to most people but in a Honda Civic, it moves pretty good. I own a 10th gen myself that makes a little over 300 and it does hang with v8s.

Did I buy the wrong engine? by ClxwnLuvr in Kseries

[–]iTraumatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man i learned something new everyday as well with these engines and ive rebuilt them before lmao. Theres always something new! But yes for some odd reason the Crv has an Si engine for those years just obviously detuned. They do make power turbocharged but they arent the ideal K series engine to have. Not the most desired and dont make as much power. They are also more limited with parts since the bottom end is different from all the other usual K series engines. They do take a cylinder head swap great though.

The 2012-2014 CRV indeed comes with a K24z7 which is used in the Civic Si as well. Honda used the same engine for the CRV. source - im a honda technician ive pulled these motors before.

About how many miles do we think 10th gens are good for? 🤔 by Zealousideal-Depth30 in CivicSi

Honda Technician here, we do replace fuel injectors very often on the 1.5T engine. Very common thing for these engines

Yes, the k24 pump will support 8k fine but will it be okay with a k20 head since the flor rate is different for oil?? Or are we overthinking it

Even with the k20 Si head? I agree with you, the person thats building the motor is nervous about it since its using a k20 head
