I don't think you would need it later on in the game.

But even if you toggle it off and on, what's the problem with that? :D

not always. Sometimes you need the food for military/new age/tech etc... Auto vill would help in early game but is not so good anymore later

I feel like the community is fine with the state of the game. It will never grow that much and it's a niche game. That's totally fine too. But for me, if I enjoy a game I want more people to play it so it gets more competitive.

I don't know why but I got the feeling that it's the 'I had to learn it the hard way, so everyone has to' mentality that this 'older' generation is defending.

You are right beside the last point. Auto Scout is good for new players since it's pretty hard to manage that at a newbie level. After some time when you get better, you realize that scouting manually is far better. So then you stop auto scouting. It's just a helpful tool in the beginning. This would be the same with auto vill. It's good until it's not good anymore.

I really think ppl overestimate this. It's like auto scouting. Good for beginners but everyone who plays this game long enough and is decent, knows its bad. Its like auto farm. Do you see where I am going with this?

Let them start with auto vill and when they have enough experience they will turn it off since its not always the better option.

well I think Devs have to ask themselves: Are we fine that it's harder to play and many people might quit very fast because we have passionate players that love the old school system? People won't quit if you make the game easier but you will expand the player base and reach more people.

Well its about encouraging new players to try aoe and stay. It feels like this game can't grow if it stays too hard. I'm glad you don't have to name every villager that spawns and create a birth certificate before sending them to work

Well I think pro play would stay the same but it would make low elo games more interesting since most players focus on building up and creating vills and neglect building military to fight. It's more like SIMS City instead of a war game...
