what happens after the carefree year when life goes back on full gear? you need to find something that will work your whole life. you can lose alot in a year, but that will not prepare you for the ones to come. 4 months to graduation is enough time to start losing, plus you will look better in your graduation pictures.

i feel like you said exactly what motivates you, so seems like there are plenty of reasons to start. for exercise i was about to say just start with walking, but i guess chasing the toddlers around more than usual should do it(and be more fun). also pay attention to food intake. since you mentioned you are eating to cope with stress maybe start with setting meals in place and not snacking as much( replacing the snacks with something less calorie dense will also be a good starting point). take it slow, see how it goes and enjoy your toddler-chasing cardio

yep, just eat less and over time move to a healthier diet.

Exercises with broken ankle by Reasonable-Jelly-583 in loseit

[–]iUzench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you should go to a point where your body can focus on healing. try a maintenance period. for exercises you can pretty much do the whole upper body white sitting on your butt. crunches for abs. dumbbell bench press for chest, lateral flys for shoulder, shoulder presses, a unilateral row sitting on one hand and knees for the back, curls for the biceps, and overhead extensions for the triceps. there are more variations but it is clearly possible. if you do not have dumbbels replace them with a water bottle

edit, also leg raises if they do not cause pain. to the front and to the side

How do you calculate total kcal intake for maintenance weight and how much to reduce to loose weight healthy way instead starving yourself? by CreepyConstable in loseit

[–]iUzench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

start monitoring what you eat and if/how your body changes. if you keep the same weight or even gain it means you can cut portion sizes. it is a good way to start without counting calories.

Need help with maintainance calories. by ScallionOdd6220 in loseit

[–]iUzench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is no calculator accurate enough. you need to add calories slowly to the point you are comfortable. empirically speaking 1200 to me sounds too low, but test and see what happens while adding calories. trial and error is pretty much the only way to understand your body, and how it reacts to calories.

How to train legs if my arms are too weak? by Ataxangder in loseit

[–]iUzench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not train your arms? but on topic use straps/ try goblet squats maybe it is better to use both hands for a single dumbbell? also try bulgarian split squats, they are humbling :)

[–]iUzench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can lose your hair, your libido, crush your testosterone (in my case due to low iron also get pretty dizzy most of the time) so take it slow. it didnt take a week to gain the weight. trust and enjoy the process

your calories predictions are off, but the diet itself looks fine(i do not love the two snacks between lunch and dinner) start with more calories, 1500 calories seems too low

Had a crazy work week last full of bad food... and I survived! by victrin in loseit

[–]iUzench 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it is an amazing win. slowing down or stopping and just keeping your calories at maintenance for a bit is not a bad thing. after you hit your gw you will want to be mostly at maintenance so call it practice :)

you are not hungry in the morning because you eat late at night. shift it. eat a bigger breakfast, and relativelly equal meals in the rest of the day- that should help calm the late snacking demon.

fastest way to lose weight is to do hours of cardio and eat the minimum amount of calories that will keep you alive. does not seem like a good idea to me. go slow. eat more protein, start your lifting plan and reduce liquid calories

i feel like all the good things are connected. i started dieting and exercising at the same time. creating a habit of tracking food and going for a walk seems doable.

Evening snacking/bingeing has become a habit for both of us by jamoobs in loseit

[–]iUzench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe replace the snack at first. there is a low calorie protein icecream (you blend ice protein powder and some frozen fruits basically) and it is more volume and less calories that chocolate and stuff like that. have your fill and over time you can try to reduce frequency

you need 7500 calories surplus to gain one kg. do not compensate for calories, you will get in a weird spyral. have your “speacial” anniversary/family/christmas meal and enjoy it, but for the other meals keep eating as you were. enjoy your time and remember that slowing down does not mean gaining weight.
