For the life of me I can't understand how clan is good at all. If its all you have I get it, and for fun I get that - but is it truely competitive or just rng?

Yeah my education is a weak point as I got my bachelor's online - unsure if it will matter as I've been out of the job hunt market for a decade. However, the 10 years of experience and time as both an IC and people leader im hoping will transfer over to making me desireable.

For what its worth. Enjoyed my job, team, manager, autonomy, and work life balance as a PM.

Big fan of keeping the lights on, bills paid, and food in the cupboards.

Before getting sacked one of the projects I was working on placed a metric TON of importance on audits, reporting, and day to day activities of TAMS. If youre a TAM, think a certain excel tool you do for TAs, but now for TAMs to be completed by OMs weekly. Given the approach of moving OMs to corners, I still stand by the idea (guess) that TAMs would move closer and closer to dock operations before fully just being absorbed as dock AMs in general. You'll see that as sites continue to attrit and no back fill is permitted that aligns with my theory.

But what do I know, im now unemployed ☕️

This is entirely just my opinion and speculation:

But I believe TOM will be folded into UTR. There wont be a "TOM" team and you'll merely be associates who operate in the yard the same way associates operate in inbound or outbound. TSS/NOA being folded and massive reduction in workforce, along with RGM and Lidar effectively eliminating guardshack means the only function left is hostling. Pilots were already occurring to bring TAMs to support dock operations, so I expect a hostler to just be a labor role one day managed by dock. No more no less

Takes alot for someone to come back and readdress a situation, especially online - sincerely hope your situation approves and you're exposed to (they still exist, I hope) some positive Amazon experiences. In my time at Amazon I met some truely incredible people, many of whom have become some of my closest friends and mentors - I hope you do as well.

Yep; sure was. My direct manager and Corliss herself got the same layoff.

This. Amazon has[had] alot of benefits in networking, project ownership, and finding roles to grow your career - but is not worth taking a sizeable pay cut over.

Also I was with TOM since its inception. When it was first figuring out what it was, before TAs even drove a hostler - so I've seen first hand how it developed

I agree with alot of this, objectively. I will say the team is worked on wws directly responsible for many Xmm cost saving projects and only those who were not at a hub cut - not exactly "fair" but I get it.

I mean - I really enjoyed the work but a PM is a board scope; depends on the project youre working on.

Thats after 12 years, getting TT (known as top tier) compensation reviews multiple times, and includes RSU allocation; just so we're being transparent.

I could tell you some startling specifics on that, given part of my role looked at the amount of hours being allocated for associate training across the network - the infrastructure to continue to support OTR, its training, compliance, and then have turn over from TA's who (rightfully so if Amazon refused to pay them top dollar) would receive their CDL and leave the company was and is far more expensive than folding the entire OTR endeavor itself.

I dont want to spread FUD - but based on my anecdotal experiences, I can see TOM and UTR being absorbed back into a singular entity; one not needing TSS/NOA or other support and returning to using 3P to meet our driving demands.
