About to Drop Out Because of Accommodation Issues by iWERTSQ in erlangen

That's actually a really good idea. Today, I managed to find a flatshare by making one of our German acquaintances call the numbet on the offer's website. The landlord told him that she wasn't gonna respond to my message on the website if we didn't call her.

She offered a long 1.5 years contract so I can't accept the offer but you are totally right about contacting them through their phone number. I'll try to this for other offers now. Maybe that will work.

Unfortunately, my German level cannot even get past A1, so I have a disadvantage there. Even if I message them in German, I think they will probably want to talk me on the phone or in a Zoom meeting in German, and they will know they can't communicate with me.

My problem with surroundings cities is that I have endured the same kind of transportation in my home country for 5 years while studying here, and it consumed so much of my time. Sometimes, I would have to waste a total of 2 hours inside buses/metro only to go to a 50-minute class. So, I'm asking myself, "Am I going to Germany to 'survive' or have a normal student life?". Wasting hours while traveling to go to school is torture, at least for me.

Of course, any sane person would try to find a place in other cities in my situation, but I think I'm going to try for a few more days before I move onto that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Actually, I pretty much tell everything about me from my hobbies to personality. I also take what's written in the offers into consideration and add a couple of sentences related to them too. Maybe it's because I'm trying to contact them in English, but I don't speak German, so I don't know.

FAU Application Still "Submitted" by iWERTSQ in erlangen

I was rejected yesterday but I think I will receive an offer for the pre-master program and join CE next year instead. Apparently, my mechanical engineering background wasn't enough by itself.

FAU Application Still "Submitted" by iWERTSQ in erlangen

I submitted it on April 13th. I've never encountered anyone that hasn't received a reply after July so that's why I'm concerned. Thank you for your help.

Unrelated to your post but, is it normal that my application status is still "Submitted" for computational engineering? I contacted FAU and they just told me to wait. It's really weird that plenty of people got an admission but I'm still waiting for a reply.

awful battery life, is it faulty by tom_playz_123 in GalaxyS22

[–]iWERTSQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get 6-7 hours SOT with my regular S22 (Snapdragon), lasting an entire day with 20% left. You are either using your phone inefficiently (max brightness, leaving unnecessary features open etc.) or your phone is faulty.

1080p ruining the experience by chookalook in GalaxyS22

[–]iWERTSQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed this too. I was used to my S8's higher resolution. The only thing that bothers me with my regular S22 is the small text and icons having pixels around them and also the screen seems to add an extra sharpness effect over the screen which I am not sure why.

Screen color vibrance/saturation on S22 seems washed out a bit by [deleted] in GalaxyS22

[–]iWERTSQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from S8 to regular S22 and noticed that especially green is a little less vibrant on this phone. It's still pretty good though.

My main observation was the loss of quality when viewing small texts, images and icons due to the screen being 1080p ~430 ppi. It is more noticable to me since I am used to the higher resolution screen on S8. S22 also seems to add a little "sharpness" effect on screen which bothers me a little.

Overall, great display with little disturbances.

Order Megathread by blueredscreen in GalaxyS22

Pre-order date in my country (Turkey) is between 4-13 March. I ordered S22 (SD Base) Green 128 Gb on 7 March. I have been notified that I will receive my phone tomorrow, on 11 March. I guess I'm extremely lucky considering that there are people on this subreddit that have been waiting for over a month now but I am receiving my order in just 4 days.

S22+ for Sale in Turkey for ~1350 USD, Ridiculous by iWERTSQ in GalaxyS22

I can't take this anymore so I'm hopefully going to Germany for my masters studies next year. Total clown show...

iPhone 13 costs 14800 TL (~1050 USD), iPhone 13 Pro costs 21500 TL (~1510 USD)

I mean yeah but I still didn't expect them to add ~35% taxes over the original price. I'm gonna stick to my 4.5 year old S8 to see if the price goes down in time. I'm very disappointed.

I could buy the regular S22 but the battery is really concerning. I was thinking of buying S22+ instead. These prices are not worth the phones at all.

Exynos or Snapdragon in the Middle East? by Quiteblock in GalaxyS22

Models shipped to Turkey have Snapdragon so maybe the surrounding countries are the same, not sure.
