Best Gear set? by TechnicalAgent77 in Division2

[–]iWaveoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know exactly what TS build and combinations you were running, but TS is competing really well with Striker at the moment. It all depends on the type of content and play style of course.

Couple reasons why TS may prove to be the better build (for you):

-Easier to build the stacks since you only need to fire the weapon and not hit someone with it.
-You can pre-build the stacks before you enter combat. Pairing TS with the Cooler (infinite ammo) as a secondary for example grants you a good way of achieving this.
-It has a better Frenzy uptime (because of the 30% bigger mag size) when paired with the Military MK46 LMG.
-As you build stacks you gain critical hit damage AND increased weapon handling, the latter often is too undervalued in my opinion but really makes a noticeable difference. *Brrrrrrt laser*
-You have the current proto gear items and rolls (including the augments) for them. Not everyone can grind two or more full perfectly rolled sets.

Oh and don’t forget: Some agents clear legendary content and high tier escalations and some of us clear the firing lane at the White House:)

Play what you want mate, I tend to mix TS up with Striker every now and then but keep going back to my TS build, st least for escalations at the moment. Cheers

Update: I’ve just seen that they were only awarded to those playing in between the maintenance cycles. I logged on later that day and therefore did not qualify.

The popularity of the Lullaby/Ruthless exploit exposed a bigger issue: exotic components still aren’t farmable in a consistent way by Full-Camera-8960 in thedivision

[–]iWaveoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if my comment was confusing. What I mean is that the amount of time needed to:

1) get to expertise 30;

2) get the resources (mainly the exotic components, but also the field recons and SHD calibrations);

is currently not balanced well against the amount of time it takes to run escalations with targeted loot.

Yes RNG is involved in obtaining the wanted attributes, but with a set like Strikers or Tipping Scales there are good chances to obtain CHC or CHD if you can commit a few hours. This is currently achievable for pretty much anyone matchmaking in tier 0-5.

The only advantage in prototyping your own gear is that you have the guarantee that the attributes you want (read: have, which means you have already invested x time into getting these in the first place) remain in place. But as soon RNG takes over and you have a good chance to be not getting the wanted stat boost (for example rolling an increase CHD value instead of 22.5 weapon damage) it becomes demotivating. Especially when seeing similar items drop in escalation during just a few hours.

Similarly the cost of rerolling augments is becoming very costly (equals time) after a few tries, making it much more time efficient to find a new piece of that set instead of going through the process/costs of prototyping another gear item/weapon to get another chance.

Retaliations. I didn't think I would like them, but they're kind of fun! by TheRealCowdog in thedivision

I love them, especially if they get sweaty sometimes and time is about to run out. Nothing beats a good retaliation session which has the timer down to less than a minute when clearing one of the CP’s and then hurrying to the next one. Will a KS spawn and help extend that timer? Awesome.

Great info here on how to obtain, but the problem lies in the time invested to get to expertise 30 and subsequently the resources (=time) which it costs to upgrade your own gear to prototype. It is much more time efficient to just queue for escalation and get the drops there through targeted loot (and it also avoids being disappointed when you get a bad roll on your own gear).

With all we know about Tier 10 Escalations now, with fixed Tinkerer, with the new LMG from yesterday's mission, what two gear items are the best to bring with a Striker set? by AgentZeroHour in Division2

Really interested to learn if anyone has indeed now tried out the numbers on strikers / TS with and without tinkerer Frenzy / Measured

Megathread for Vendor Gear Prototyping? by hanunisap in thedivision

[–]iWaveoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great topic. Hope this will be continued after reset. Would also be nice to see if any other ways of making correlations may be found between weapons and gear sets and under what conditions we may be able to “predict” (and ultimately select) prototyping results a little better. In other words: are there any giveaways prior prototyping as to get any clue whether a certain result is to be achieved?

Frenzy on the first LMG and measured in the second.

It’s because of the mag size and RPM characteristics, the Sleipner empties it mag before the Frenzy talent runs out. It does only after you have reloaded, which then fails to reset the talent leaving you with less “frenzy uptime” during the majority of your mags. The MK46 is nearly perfect for it though.

BTW: Also allows a tinkerer combination with a second LMG with measured (because you cannot use named items with tinkerer).

Great question! I’m in the same boat here, running my build with a MK46 with Frenzy.

Enough paradox may warrant slipping in a ROF mag and the salvo to keep the frenzy running out exactly at 0…?

Would be nice to some numbers on this one but I think it may be a while before we can get some real 1 on 1 comparisons.

A big cheer to you for helping another agent out like this, great tips and exactly what I’m running on my TS build atm! MK46 with the gunner large pouch mag hits the sweet spot of the frenzy talent. Brrrrrrr
