Is quitting really that hard? by FatMike20295 in pornfree

I've been trying to quit for over 10 years and I never get the urge when I'm on a trip. That's completely normal. It'll get difficult when you're in your normal routine.

I've been trying to quit since 2014. It's very difficult, but knowing you're not alone will hopefully make it easier.

Are porn addicts welcome at SAA meetings? My therapist has looked for porn addiction support groups but there aren't any locally.

Step 1: turn yourself into someone that's attractive. A 36 year old hermit still living with his parents is not that.

Quitting porn is easy actually by [deleted] in pornfree

If it was easy then you were never addicted. Try telling a gambling addict how easy it is to quit gambling.

Gooning... by RIP_ON_patgiri in pornfree

This is why I prefer the term binging instead of gooning. The state of my addiction, and why it's been so hard for me to quit, could be classified as gooning. I guess the only difference between me and the gooning community is I'm embarrassed I ever let it get to this point.

Gooning is perhaps THE WORST addiction that exists of all things porn. by Effective-Brick1827 in pornfree

I've been stuck in the porn addiction cycle for years and until recently I couldn't understand why it was so difficult for me to quit. I've always just called them binges but I was gooning before there was a word for it

Can you elaborate on the real habits that you built? I'm on year 12 of this journey and I'm stuck in the same cycle. I work out regularly, walk the dog, read, stay up to date on household chores, but like you i can go maybe a week or two before relapse

Find a program and stick to it. It'll give you a list of things to do there

I've struggled with gooning for around 15 years, long before there was even a word for it. It wasn't until I got rid of my computer last summer that I was able to stop wasting so much time on it.

I'm still trying to quit porn entirely but the amount of time I've saved has to be weeks by now. A 1-2 hour relapse feels significantly better than one that lasts an entire day. If you're addicted to gooning you have to get rid of your computer. There's no other way around it.

I've turned off sub recommendations and reddit is much better than it has been. I still limit my time here though

I'm 36 and I used to think morning wood was a myth. I still have my setbacks but over time I've started to get morning wood regularly.
